TRIP REPORT | First Flight on Ryanair B737MAX | Bratislava to Milan Bergamo | RYANAIR Boeing 737 MAX

Ryanair Trip Report flying from Bratislava to Milan-Bergamo onboard one of the Ryanair Boeing 737MAX 8200 operated by Malta Air on a nice and snowy winter morning.
A very comfortable flight onboard the brand-new Ryanair Boeing 737-8200 MAX from Bratislava to Milan-Bergamo. This was my very first time flying a Boeing 737MAX with the Ryanair livery.
The plane looks fantastic with the new and huge engines and the new scimitar winglets. However, if there is something that surprised me, that was the massive legroom! It is just incredible. It is the biggest low-cost in Europe and it offers more legroom than almost every legacy airline! Just check it on the video! It's really unbelievable!
The flight itself was very nice. We departed from runway 04 in Bratislava and, after a right turn with some nice views of Bratislava, we flew towards the Alps. This flight is basically crossing the Alps, so the full flight was over these magic mountains that were fully covered with snow. All in all, a truly amazing experience and, for me, an unforgettable one, as this was the first flight onboard the Ryanair Boeing 737MAX of many more that will come in the next years.

I’ve said this before with your videos, the ‘across cabin’ view during the turn to Bergamo was amazing and a shot rarely used on other channels. It sums up the experience of flying rather than just the usual shots. The clarity of the video and newness of the Max also gave crystal clear views of the engine and wings. Superb!

Very nice flare by the pilot wow. You can see the shadow, the plane was coming down fast, but then the pilot perfectly timed the flare, then we have a smooth landing....from Ryanair.

Gorgeous views and I especially liked the left turn to Bergamo looking toward the left side windows, then quickly showing the engine on the right, then the wing as the plane was coming out of the turn♡

At 4:30 note, that the safety demonstration doesn't mention the exact aircraft type. Many airlines try to hide, you're flying on a Max in order not to upset some passengers.

Probably also because they now operate two aircraft types (the -800 and the Max). They have put the new safety message on all their aircraft and it’s probably easier to have one recording which they load onto both the -800 and Max, instead of two different ones.

They don't hide anything. It is writen on tje safety instructions, just in front of the passenger eyes. The reason to not say the aircraft type on the sffty msg is to keep the standard msg with the 737NG. The crew always makes an additional PA saying tye specific points of the MAX or NG.

Amazing that Boeing has carried over the collapsible steps to the 737 Max. I’m very surprised they didn’t decide to discontinue them.

@Spaced Raider only a small percentage of airlines have them fitted, the majority don’t. So my thinking was maybe to get more range and fuel savings out of the aircraft maybe Boeing would have discontinued the built in stairs.

The B737 is probably the most profitable plane in aviation history and now the safest one in the skies. There is absolutely no reason to not continue building it.

Great report! Thank you for getting on the BUZZ and Ryanair (even though it’s Malta Air) 737 MAXes! Very interesting to see Ryanair’s long awaited product. These seem really great I can’t lie, also the legroom is very good for some reason, something I find quite weird because these aircraft were supposed to have “super tight legroom”!

However you might find legroom is reduced in future if Ryanair wants to increase capacity on these 737s. Right now in these unusual times there's probably insufficient demand.

197 asientos según recuerdo!

@@OnBoardHD eso es lo que no me cuadra...si el 800 tiene 33 filas (menos la 13), son 192 asientos y tenía entendido que el Max lleva 34 filas(-1), serían 198. 6 asientos más, que son una fila de 3 y 3. Por eso preguntaba la configuración, una fila de 3 y 2? En cualquier caso serían 6 asientos más según digo yo o 5 según dices tú, pero no 8 Joder, vaya comentario tan difícil de seguir me ha quedado, lo siento

@@OnBoardHD absolutely, and with me being a big Southwest Airlines customer here in the states, I follow Mentour Pilot as he Captains for Ryan Air, CEO of Ryan Air modeled their business plan of Southwests. O’Leary had met with Southwest CEO’s back in the day before Ryan Air really exploded on to the scene. Whats the subsidiary airline, is it Buzz Air?

@@OnBoardHD they start getting their massive MAX7 order starting in March a Captain from SWA told me. They have some of the 8’s, still getting more of them, starting to roll away from their 20 plus year old planes, though, the seating is fantastic when they did the remodels, lots of leg room and pitch and recline and I am 6 feet tall, very comfortable, MAX seats not so much from what I hear.

The MAX has been operating since almost 1'5 years since they approved it worldwide. Ryanair I don't know the date, but a while already...

Thank you for a great review. The 737 MAX is impressively quiet on take off, and the Sky interior is nice on most operators aircraft ! However, I find Ryanair’s interiors very gharish, and the yellow seat backs clash terribly with the rest of the interior ! Good to see the excellent choice of menus

As almost every new gen airplane it is really quiet. The new engines were designed like that to reduce the noise over the cities located close to the airports 👌
