I spent some time in Scotland stationed at RAF Turnhouse which is now Edinburgh airport. At that time they were repositioning the runway so I gather that must have all been completed a long time ago. I wonder is RAF Turnhouse still there? Cardiff will soon become my local airport so I am looking forward to that.

As far as i know Edinburgh airport is civilian now and i don't think there is a RAF base near Edinburgh.

@@cardiffflyer I will have to revisit the place just to see how much it has changed. I was never at St Athans so I wonder whether that exists any more a lot of the old RAF bases have been closed.

1:31 on your right that was vueling Cardiff to Malaga on the 18 of August 2018 so my flight ✈️

You have to use the airport bus for gate 13-15 I think? To get to the plane

stands 15 16 and 17 are bus stands along with 4 5 and 6. 12 13 and 14 you can walk to from the gate.

I am petrified of flying but I love watching planes take off and land. Strange I know. I live in Cardiff so the airport is only up the road from me. I was thinking of taking a short flight to Edinburgh and back the same day just to face my fears. How long does the flight take?

The Edinburgh flight takes an hour one way. It's a nice flight and of course a lovely city!

Thank you for your reply. Im going to take a look at the flights from Cardiff tonight to see if I can go there and back the same day to get used to flying. Ideally I want to go to Canada either this year or next year so have to get used to flying one way or another@@cardiffflyer
