I've been on one and it is at another level of beauty

I took this same flight on 16th December 2016 - before clicking on this video I was really hoping it was going to be of the actual flight I took - just a few weeks before this one - but either way it's nice to have your video to look back on what was a really pleasant flight (and back), I've hardly flown long haul so it was a treat (I'm a bit of a geek), although to be fair one of my only others was upstairs on a 747 (-200 I think - Virgin, 1996) to LA and then back on an an A340-300 so I've been lucky in those respects. I had in my head that we flew on G-TUID but this is just from memory and it might've been one of the others or even IE - I'm not sure. Someone else said about the 3 centre seats - the binnacle mouldings above have four lights and ventilation spouts too I think for the carriers who go 3-4-3. I'm gutted I didn't ask to go in the flight deck I didn't realise it was even a possibility. I was alone (rest of family were up front but no seat for me up there as our party booked the last seats but they were one short) so I took seat C on row something like 23 to be relatively close to a source of alcohol but not in the extra legroom or too close to the lavs. My family enjoyed free drinks but in Premium, but for me in standard economy I had to pay, I remember at the time this having been a recently introduced policy, or perhaps it was just for P&O charters or something? Not sure if yours were free because of the upgrade to extra legroom or if it wasn't a P&O flight? The guy next to me wasn't happy when I started watching the Sully movie on my iPad mid flight. Not sure if you transferred to the cruise terminal or if if you were staying on Barbados, but I was disappointed to see your video didn't document the cruise terminal transfer procedure, which frankly astounded and amused me hugely: 787 stops in some far corner of the airfield away from the terminal (towards the Concorde hanger in fact), we all deplane via steps, hop on one of a fleet of minibuses on the tarmac no more than 50 feet from the 787, wait for a guard to open a really shoddy chain link gate with a single knackered old rusty padlock, drive straight out onto the highway and then on to the cruise terminal on public roads - still technically airside yet alighting at any time would not have proved difficult! And the most laid back bus drivers ever, always always giving way and instead of putting a hand up to say thanks to someone letting them through, they put their hand up in a V (like victory) and say 'peace' aloud. I do this in the UK now but it hasn't caught on yet. Did you go on the Concorde tour? I loved it, my other half was dreading it but she loved it too. Also we stopped in St. Maarten and unbelievably I was unable to go to Princess Juliana since I was struck down with what they told me was Norovirus - even worse an Air France A340(-300 I think) took off whilst we were there. I had to settle for waiting for it to appear over the mountains over which they climb out, but flying towards me as the ship we were on was docked over the other side of the hills from the airport - all just from the cabin balcony on the ship :(

Me being someone who’s always found planes fascinating, last year I had arrived in Cyprus on a 737 and got my little brother to ask if he can have a look in the cockpit and I would go with him just for ‘supervision’ you know and although I have been in multiple plane cockpits and been in some retired ones and played with all the controls, every time you go in one it just feels like the first time and the amount of buttons and controls is crazy. I then went to Egypt 2 months later on a 787 and got my brother to do the same thing and it was just amazing seeing that these 2 people could control a 180 tonne aircraft with 300 people in it

You were sitting in 11A?? Wow! I was on a TUI 787-9 just a few days ago, on the same side of the aircraft and directly over the wing, just a fraction forward of the trailing edge...and I was in 21A. I knew that the -9 variant was a good bit longer than the -8 but I would never have believed it to be as starkly noticeable as it clearly is!

That large check in area reminds me of Palma and Gatwick's HUGE TUI check in areas

Why are you fast forwarding the interesting bits?

Most of this video was about the absolutely horrendous walk to the plane in Manchester. With its endless corridors & tunnels, the terrible nightmare of UK flight departures needs to be rectified.The F/F was making the point I am sure. You could feel the panic in those being followed to the aircraft. I'm amazed on this one that anyone made the flight at all. Then all the touch-screen twittiness on the plane. That, not very Brit. I would think.

In economy class Were the drinks readily available throughout the flight? Or only at meal times,for example i flew to new york with virgin and throughout the flight soft drinks and alcholic drinks (excluding champagne) were free and readily available for you. Thanks!

We've done the Thomson Dreamliner 3 times already. Jamaica, Mexico and Dominican Republic. When we flew to Mexico we upgraded to Premium cabin. It wasn't worth it in my opinion. We're going to Turkey in September on the Dreamliner and paid for the extra space seats. The only ones available were rows 10, and a row somewhere in the 30s. Which would you recommend? At the minute I've chosen window seats away from the toilets in row 10 going, and the inner seats on rows 30 on the way home. Great video!

I thought the TUI Dreamliner economy seat pitch is 32" standard, unlike the old 767s which were 33".

Fantastic amount of space. I flew on Qatar 787 it was 10 abreast rather than 9...very cramped and uncomfortable

hi enjoy your videos.. we travel to vegas reg on the Thomas cook a330 direct from Glasgow, have done for past 6 years.. they have pulled it off next year, no more direct flights to vegas, nd to travel to Manchester if you want a direct flight... e mailed Glasgow airport, Thomas cook, and visited 4 Thomas cook stores, nobody can explain why they've pulled it..... just wondering if you or any of your viewers can enlighten me.. much obliged.....

Oh yeah and I'm going to Gran Canaria so it will take around about 4 hours

Hi there, i was surprised to see you allowed in the cockpit with a camera i thought that was all stopped, because of terrorism, i'm a solo lady passenger, and have been on this plane before, i had always wanted to see what the cockpit was like, i asked the stewardess and was told that this was no longer allowed for the reasons said. i now wonder was she right??
