I have been super excited to test out these new propellers, however I'm not sure they live up to the manufactures expectations, I ended up finding a lot more cons then pros. I don't see myself using these on a regular basis but the overall results are interesting. Thanks for watching and here are some highlights for those who don't have time to watch this entire video! Sorry late to the party. I use to freestyle with the other quads. When the hype came we learned fast that most of them need to be balanced. Carbon fiber makes the motors work harder. That flexibility goes a long way. I never like those carbon fibers. Had them for many drones including the typhoon h plus. They sucked. Never went back. Talked my buddy out of buying some for his drone.

Hi Nick, I really liked this video. Great production values and presentation! I have a Mini 2 and was curious if 3-bladed props were more effective than the standard 2-blade set. I think that they would give the drone improved lift, and possibly improve agility a little, but at the cost of increased drag. It doesn't make sense that they could increase flight-time as they must cost the aircraft more energy. I also noticed that you like to travel and record your adventures. Have you visited Australia yet? You'd be adopted as an Aussie pretty much the moment you cleared customs 🙂 You would be welcomed wherever you travelled, and every State has it's own wonders to share. Spectacular coastlines, state forests, mountains, the Red Centre, rainforests, the list is endless.
@NickCorona
@NickCorona 2 жыл бұрын
Haha I would love to visit Australia, it seems like an amazing place!! Someday I sure hope to make that trip! Honestly anything gained with a 3rd blade would be lost in dji reliability it seems. I never went on to try prop masters although I hear good things about them… over the years I have stuck to dji mainly for safety. Not only maximum battery life but the drones are super tuned to those blades to help avoid issues in air. Hope that helps you decide, safe flying!!
@andrewstrongman305
@andrewstrongman305 2 жыл бұрын
@@NickCorona Don't leave your visit until you are too old to make the most of it. Many of our most scenic places are accessible only by foot, and you want to be fit. Your channel will pick up many Australian viewers and Americans in general seem fascinated with Australia, so your adventures would be offset by income generated from your videos. As for the blades, I'd already considered that they'd present the same issues that triplanes faced. Even during WW2 the Germans rarely used props with more than 3 blades, figuring that any extra performance would be negated by the added drag. The Allies got around that by using props with dynamic pitch control. That kind of system would add significant weight to a small drone and once again, nullify any benefits.

I am, for the most part, not a drone guy. But I am an avid RC pilot of planes and helis that make it fairly obvious what the issues with these three bladed props are. Just by looking at the design itself I can almost guarantee these units suffer from poor build tolerances. I suspect for most of you that has been in the hobby a little while that it doesn't take long to realize the importance of mechanical tolerances and how it is fairly crucial for things that spin quickly, such as propellers. ESPECIALLY prop sets that have more than two blades. Propellers in general have very little room for mechanical or any other form of structural inaccuracies of any kind in this regard and will exponentially suffer drastic efficiency losses and eventually incur a plethora of havoc on most if not all of anything is has any form of connection with, all the way down to effecting the life battery that drives it! centrifugal balance and precise shape mirroring from one side to the other if any to the next to achieve anything What the common Chinese industry is good at is their expert ability at replicating and mass producing believable looking copies for pennies on the dollar. They are also great at regurgitating various "so-called facts" and sales points within their products advertisement descriptions and technical specs, albeit usually with very poor grammar within their wording choices and lingo jargon that's been what they've heard about a products performance based on its known methodogy. What most Chinese manufacturers aren't any good at is understanding what they've replicated, and or what is acceptable for

Good review, Nick. Pretty sure I'm not gonna burn a trail to get these props. Theoretically, they SHOULD perform better than the DJI stock props. But, flight time is still going to be guided by how much drain there is on the battery and these props obviously really tax the motors way more than the stock props. Also, your device: after trying iphones, androids, ipads, android tab, whatever, it always comes down to the heat of the day. I live in Houston (Hot. Hell takes it's queue from Houston) I don't DARE fly after 11:30am or at least 1/2 hour b4 sundown. I can count on whatever device I'm flying with to do what yours does or worse, like shut down. Very thrilling when the drone is 2k feet away!

Thank you for providing us with your experiences. I initially could not see any reason why the three bladers should get us the advertised advantages. You have again proven that physics are always correct. Especially in regard of poor manufacturing and balancing. I also had thought of expecting a higher torque on the motors for the higher drag produced by the triplets. Since the energy demand is following the lifted weight into a certain elevation and the efficiency of different motors is not linear to a specific rpm necessary for different number of blades. I had expected to have even much less flight time compared to those original twins. Thanks again for your findings 👌

Since Carbon Fiber hinders signal transmission, I tend to skip over ANY Props that are made from that material. That said, I regularly use Triple-Bladed Props on my Mini 2, Air 2, and, now my Pro 2, as well. Stick to the Glass-Nylon designs, avoid Carbon Fiber ones, and Youll be a lot happier. i picked up a set of Glass-Nylon Triple-Blades for around $16, from Amazon, and they work quite well, since I live at high elevation.

@@NickCorona So hands off, and the drone will hover. Then use the RC telemetry - which provides more than enough data to fly back. The app is totally unnecessary just to fly the drone. It's totally irrelevant if the app is "laggy" or even crashes - if you are VLOS and still have the Occusync data link via the controller, then you are still in control of the drone. Even in the video you can see that the RC is still providing plenty of data. The problem is the "buy and fly" owners who seem to think of these as just toys rather than aircraft - they don't take any training, don't bother with exams, don't follow the rules (hence why the rest of us are heavily regulated).

it happened to my mavic 1 long time ago, i took off with the Triblades and i don't know what in the name of hell happened... it just risen above my chest level and suddenly it flew sideways REALLY Fast while dropping to the grass, nothing serious happened since the soil was soft and acted as a bumper, when i inspected it... one of the TriBlades hit the body of my mavic, don't try them man!

Replace the short cable from controller to phone. Use the USB port on the bottom of controller to phone. Eliminates a lot of glitching.

My Mavic pro has had the double blade carbon fiber. They definitely help with wind conditions. Plastic befits you only so much lol. I see comments saying they made them flexible for a reason and that’s true. Also do you see plastic props on an airplane?
@NickCorona
@NickCorona 4 жыл бұрын
Lamborghini Breez airplane props are pretty flexible, I agree they aren’t plastic but the also aren’t carbon fiber. The biggest issue is how Much damage those blades will cause to the unit if you hit something. Also it didn’t fit in my bag very well with those huge bladesZ. Thanks for watching bro and safe flying! Thank for the input

Try changing the Dji connector cord. Looks like you are using an iPhone. Try using a lightning data cord connect to the USB slot at the bottom of the remote to the phone or iPad. No more Lag
