Felixstowe Container Ship Spotting June 26, 2015 video 7 of 8
The 18,340 TEU Maersk Line Triple E container vessel MADISON MAERSK sailing into the Port of Felixstowe, United Kingdom with a full load, inbound for Asia via the Suez Canal.
MADISON MAERSK is one of 20 Triple E container vessels put in service from mid 2013 to mid 2015 by Maersk Line. The "Triple E" was the world's largest container ship from June 2013 until November 2014 when China Sipping's CSCL Globe went into service. Although the Triple E is no longer the world's largest container ship, she is still very impressive to see especially when fully loaded.
The name "Triple E" is derived from the class's three design principles: Economy of scale, Energy efficient, and Environmentally improved.
Maersk Line is part of the M2 alliance with MSC on east-west routes.
