The best beginner rc airplanes are the volantex sport cub 500, and the 3 Eachine warbirds (P51 Mustang, t28 Trojan and f4u Corsair). I can’t understand why volantex/Eachine has not released any new planes this year using the same FCB/protocol? PS. This year I ordered a backup mustang and sport cub 500 from Aliexpress for $80 each. So under $100 is still possible.

Hello Saylors😃 Thank you for getting me in to this hobby. First plane was the RTF super cub V2. Now I have the TT Evolution 1.5 Get Ready !!! I am probably the only person on earth that had the motor, prop, cowl and mount separate in flight. 😮 Yup ! Still, I managed to land with minimal damage ! Bet you don't get that too often. i think the purpose of the 3 motors is space. you need the seperate prop shaft to compensate an impact in case of nose diving into the ground. if you have only one motor, it would sit on top or on the bottom of the gear... in both cases the motor would be that big that it would stand out of the fuselage... easy way to fix is taking 3 smaller motors, place them perfectly centered every third around the main gear of the prop

Much love to you guys and your channel, Pateron for quite a while. This plane does not really deserve a 12 minute video. Sorry, but is not a beginner plane if Nate struggles just to fly it. I know you strive to show the good in whatever you review, but I think you may be trying too hard, in this case. Just being honest, a good PSA for anyone wanting to buy it. Just so many better choices out there.

Nice :-) The mentioning of another 3 motors micro plane is the Wltoys F949, which is one of the legendary 1S micro that can fly very very stable (without gyro at all), and can easily fly 25-30 minutes with the bundle 1S 500mah, I still have mine and still flying good for almost 4-5 years old ☺️. There is a later version F949S (if not mistaken, launched in 2020) which comes with gyro.

I'd love to see you do a review of the 90mm F-16 from Freewing. The hardest thing for a person watching RC videos looking at planes they don't have, or getting an idea of comparisons, or build quality, or whatever is that one person seems to wind up being affiliated with "X" brand and another winds up affiliated with "Y" brand. This makes a fair representation of any scale plane from any brand difficult because the way the reviewer does their videos and forms their own opinions will be different from another person. I'd like the lineup next to the E-Flite 80mm F-16. Lol

My first 4ch rc airplane was the yellow cub you talked about. It is aweful! I never got to land it or even fly it more than a minute in over a dozen attempts. It nosedived every time. I just gave up on it and bought the sport cub s2.

My first plane was a 3ch like this too. I can live with a yank and bank 3ch without rudder but losing the ailerons is seriously crap.

Excuse my post below, I cant type on a phone!!!! As I said I believe the wing needs more dihedral, it's just too flat for a 3 channel plane. Or add ailerons as mentioned also. Good price, might buy it and add dihedral for a indoor flyer!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a suggestion for this plane.. try to remove the strucks support... and fly it gently... And it may surprise you (even with gyro off)☺️. The theory behind this is, with a stiffer wings, it's need the aileron to assist stability.. so for a 3CH plane, it need wings I be flexible (like glider) in order to self leveling correction. :-)

Three motors to turn the prop just seems like poor design to me. It's not like there is any lack of good, small, electric motors suitable for micro RC planes.

I thing the wallowing is the lack of dihedral in the wing. Wing looks a little flat for a 3 channel airplane. Or has been said and ailerons...........Bob M.

I bet these 3 motors are fighting each other at times, causing torque changing and thus the weird squirrelly movements. Seems like the XK A600, going brushless at this size, did things much better, design wise.

Sailors, I have succesfully made floats for my mini mustang p51d 🥳 it can land on water, sail, but so far all three versions I built can't take off. Tomorrow I'm gonna test version4. I also made Frankenmusteing , it's a mini mustang p51d with floats and a silverlit xtwin airplane combined lol. It flies well, even without the gyro. Tomorrow I will land both on water and will upload a video. Too bad this one doesn't fly to well,I'll get the bigger mustang and make floats for that too.

I wouldn't recommend it. Thats way to wide for a j-3 piper cub, cubs are in-line seating and are half as wide as that plane.Probobly china trying to use someone else's idea and badging. I would recommend the horizon sport cub s.for about $30. more.
