Curiously, this is the third or fourth reported attack using a crossbow - a weapon that is currently unlicensed and unrestricted and a threat to the Governments monopoly on violence against the public. It would be crass to imply this was anything other than a tragedy of immense proportion but it's still as a result of the PERSON rather than the tool they used. I fully expect crossbows to be illegal by the end of this year.

I worked in high risk domestic abuse as a detective for years . The real truth is that restraining orders and behaviour orders are pretty ineffectual to prevent these types of crimes . I agree with the vast majority of women making it clear it isn’t a crime of passion or just another domestic . It’s an act of pure evil and perpetrated by an evil individual worth thoughts only for themselves . Narcissistic personality disorder and sociopathic tendencies are evident in nearly every murder of this kind . There has to be new legislation to force people to relocate to the far end of the country away from the victim and to never contact them again . A breach of that would result in a minimum of 10 years imprisonment. They repeat it again and they are never released . We do this with compulsive arsonists , why not people with histories of abusive behaviour in relationships.

this crime was in my area. the cemetery he was found in is 5 minutes away from me. it’s not just the poor women, every school has been in lockdown. everything was shut down and everyone was isolated. This is just a sick and selfish deed.
