Next step is to run copper in the bottom of your firebox and create a rudimentary steam generator that directly powers the condenser on a mini fridge. Gotta be able to keep those drinks cold. The hotter the fire the colder the drinks.

How does insulating the bottom improve or affect the cook? I’ve never known anyone to cook on an offset with an insulated bottom. What is the benefit to that? Thanks in advance to anyone that can explain this.
@pigironpatina9852 ай бұрын
Less fuel consumption (on a 1000 gallon up to 40%!) better convection, less influence of colder temperatures during cold spells.

Why is there no full grate system upper and lower? There’s a lot of wasted cook space. Other than that is a nice build but that’s a lot of lost cook space that can be utilized.
@pigironpatina9856 ай бұрын
We build custom. Those would be an added expense. We can also put full nose grates in if you like. If you do standard drop in lowers, it's 3 grates that cover the entire bottom.
@Cinccinatti_C36 ай бұрын
@@pigironpatina985 so you don’t build a full chamber grate system as a standard on all you smokers. It a upcharge?
@pigironpatina9856 ай бұрын
Opinions are all over the board on that. This has the slideout lower grate option, I've actually had pitmasters prefer no center 5" grate in there. The reasoning behind it was, if they lap the meat onto it to over-fill the smoker, then it renders a slide-out grate useless. You may as well have done the 3 -drop in grates. So to answer your question, yes. If you do not opt for slide-out lower grates, you get a full lower grate, from seam to seam. If you opt for slide-out lowers, you get 2 grates. If you want a little 5" grate in-between, or a nose cone grate, let us know, we will get you set up👍🇺🇸

As for myself I weld pipline/plants so its completely different and 100% of my welds are visually and x ray inspected or phase to ray similar to an ultrasound. Also I might add that welding with wire is extremely easy ive always called it monkey rod even someone as Brite as im sure you are can figure out why with that type of welding you can make it look all sorts of ways some prefere one way over another but all people im sure if they seen your golden arm at work would question why its legal for anyone else to even grab a stinger you sir I can tell are something special thank you for taking time out of your busy schedual to speak to someone as unworthy as me im not worthy 😉

The only thing I see wrong is the top shelf in the smoker should be able to be lowered. That and who wants to be leaning over a tire trying to cook ??
@pigironpatina9856 ай бұрын
Frank, honestly it doesn't matter where I put the top shelf on the 250 gallon smokers, there's always that one guy saying he doesn't like it😂😂 99 percent of the time, your briskets, butts, etc will be on the bottom grates, top is for ribs, spatchcock birds, Diablo and so on. And yes sir bagged smokers are not for everyone! Our leaf sprung models hug the tank better!

As far as the “over the tire “ complaint. It’s not like ur standing over a sauté station. Who lowers a pizza oven? Use ur peel to wrk out desired hot spots, n stop crying. This rig is top notch., I’ll take two!!

For a small fee, I’m sure he can build the smoker that fits your specs that someone else would then criticize. :)
