We did basically the same thing as Ben with our school computers., except we had the emulator and Pokemon Crystal ROM on USB sticks. Then the only way we could get past the school system was to unplug the ethernet cable and then restart the computer, bypassing the system and booting like a regular PC. Good times.

After 40 years of gaming, I'm finally converted on handheld. Steam Deck OLED is my go to. Decent handheld experience and can plug into the TV. Yep I know that is essentially a Switch, but the added power and PC capabilities have converted me.

@@willissudweeks1050don't forget to mention that PS portal requires that you own a PS5 It's not a handheld console it's just a streaming deck.

It's not "just a switch" The steam deck means that you're not stuck with only Nintendo games. Congrats for getting into PC gaming. I dropped console gaming 30 years ago for only PC gaming and I've never regretted it. $60 for a controller? No thanks.

IMO Sony should make a hybrid portable in which it will play PS4 games (and maybe smaller PS5 games) anywhere/anytime and PS5 games over your home network just like the Portal.

I’m not sure if I see the point. The only successful handhelds still left are more-so handheld/home console hybrids like the switch and steam deck.

I'm not really interested in a handheld by sony, but at the same time the PSP and PS Vita were done so dirty that I would like a succesor of them to have some actual success

The ps vita failed because it wasn't a smartphone. The Xperia play failed because it didn't have high end specs. They need to merge the two systems.

If Sony comes out with a portable system with HDMI out, wouldn't it cannibalize their pc game sales which they seem to be doing more of?

They day portables have good battery life, count me in. Until then its to expensive. Unless of course you play with it plugged in all the time. Which kinda defeat the purpose. I remember my Game Gear needing new batteries every 2-3 hours. Ugh. Gameboy was a bit better as it was basic with no colors.

Switch Oled and PS Portal have decent batteries. Steam deck can play older games for a good amount of time to. It’s just the newest games that kill the battery in 3 hours.

i believe that sony is going to copy nintendo again because sony does copy nintendo sometimes since the switch did so well i think the next gen playstation 6 is actually going to be handheld portable and home console hybird that's what i think it's going to be i don't think it's going to be what these rumors are saying

Portable gaming will never be quite the same as the magic of exclusive games isnt there anymore, but Im very excited by rumors of both Xbox and Playstation looking into it.

I wouldn't trust a Sony handheld initially at all. They really blew it with the Vita. Then the PS Portal is a complete let down in my eyes. I mean they patched out the use of PSP emulation this week...
