Tripura: Tension grips Gandatwisa in Dhalai after youth’s death, section 144 imposed

Section 144 was imposed and large contingents of CRPF, Tripura State Rifles, and police personnel were deployed across the Gandatwisa subdivision (formerly known as Gandacherra) in Dhalai district of Tripura after tension flared following the death of a youth identified as Parameshwar Reang. Reang succumbed to the injuries he suffered a few days back during a scuffle with four individuals.
Local sources said Reang went to a local fair where he was assaulted by four persons at the Cricket Stadium. He suffered grave injuries and was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital.
Later, he was referred to GBP Hospital for advanced medical attention. However, Reang breathed his last on Friday night.
Along with the news of his demise, tension gripped the entire subdivision following which heavy security arrangements were put in place in the area.
The situation turned highly volatile after attacks were launched on some residences. So far no confirmed report on the number of families who had faced violence could be traced. As many as six security personnel including CRPF men suffered injuries while trying to defuse the tension.
Speaking on the issue, District Magistrate and Collector, Dhalai district Saju Vaheed said that all the four individuals who were involved in the attack had been arrested.
Reacting to the issue, Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarman urged the people of Gandatwisa to maintain peace and tranquillity.

Mr. Reang was beaten not only by 4 people but 20-25 people or more. He was even electrocuted and thus died 4 days later in the hospital. The only thing he tried doing was asking the goons( I must call them) not to beat the poor guy who is not normal. Did Mr. Reang do anything wrong in this? 😢 Poor guy!!

I was watching Sir Aadesh Singh's videos in StudyIQ and from there I came to know about the present situation of Tripura and problems such as Communal Violence, huge Bengali immigration, HIV, demographic changes and minority problem. Don't be carried away by propaganda, look for facts. Kuki population in manipur was around 15% in 1901 and around 16% in 2011 census, a mere increase of 1%. Find out yourself which community is increasing infact they use to be 2% but now 8%.

Actually, I am a citizen of tripura state and we are really sorry for that, actually our state can't be in unity as the people of Bangladeshi had mingled since earlier 16 centuries (BCE) just because amoung 186 empires the first king of tripura made a mistake which is he married a bangali, and their people were too claver and since last that centuries the real citizen of tripura people is in trouble till today. This is the exact report of what actually happened Section 144 imposed in Ganda Twisa as communal tension flares up after a Tiprasa youth, Parameshwar Reang, son of a SDZ officer expired today (12th July 2024) at GB Hospital succumbing to the injuries of mass assault on him on Sunday' (7th July) night at Ananda Mela (fair) in Gandacherra. Kender The assailants were allegedly thrashing a mental patient after getting involved in a road rage. Both the parties belong to Bengali community. Parameshwar Reang is then reported to have interfered in the altercation to stop it since the mental patient happens to be his neighbour. After his interference, the assailants have reportedly shifted their attacks towards Parameshwar Reang. Then a huge mob possibly ranging from 14-50 people allegedly started thrashing Mr. Reang. According to the victim's father, he was hit even with rods and was also electrocuted. "He was left senseless beside the road, thinking he is dead. Then a villager recognised him that it's my son and called me at around 10 pm and he called the PS and arranged vehicle to the hospital(Ganda Twisa). We parents were not even aware of it" the victim's father stated to the media. Since he was losing lot of blood at the midnight, he was shifted to Dhalai district hospital next morning. As there were no functioning X-ray and CT scan machine at the district hospital also he was then again referred to GB hospital (8th July 2024). Today, 4 days past the incident of mob assault, the victim died in GB hospital. Parameshwar recently passed out XII boards from Assam Rifles Public School, Agartala and was supposed to join at Union Christian College at Shillong on 18th July 2024

The rootcause of the issue started from 1971 when the mass immigration of bengali refugees from Bangladesh entered Tripura that change the entire demography of the state Tripura reducing the indigenous Tripuris to minority. Demography has become the strength of the bengali refugees who settled as land occupiers terrorizing Tripuris since then. Illegal immigration of the Bengalis kept rising for the past 53 years. Refugees, illegal immigrant have become the majority and indigenous have become the minority. Had the bengalis not settle in Tripura and stayed in their own native land Bangladesh or settle elsewhere like West Bengal rather than Tripura. The problem would not have existed. Now coming to solution, for peaceful co-existence between the two communities, the Tripuris deserve a seperate state or union territory from GOI(Govt.of India) in order to stop this further cylce of atrocities committed by the Bengalis. I was in tripura for about 7 years and i saw that mostly tripuri girls have affair with bengali guy and married as well. Even this tripuri are being ill treated by the Bengalis.
