I've never considered hitting the traitor in the tree litteraly happening...it's a metaphor and a statement 'Let the battle commence'.Even though recurved bows like his are engineering miracles - their range can go as far as 275 yards! I must agree with uploader's remark that Tristan didnt expect to survive the battle.Freeing his beloved hawk says it all! If Tristan only knew he's still breaking hearts over the centuries :D

I like to think of this song as a tribute to Iseult. I think that at one time Tristan had a love like Iseult, but he lost her to the Woads or other enemies. He became withdrawn and lived to serve Arthur, caring for nothing but the next battle. When he saw Cerdic, he saw a chance to save his comrades from a superior opponent and a chance to get back to Iseult. He obviously didn't expect to live through the battle, as he freed his hawk just before it. I think he was hoping to die in that battle.

His fight with Cedric, and his death was a tragic moment. I found he had became my favorite actor in this film, and the death.. seeing his horse running free at the end, was heartbreaking.

Great job with the video! Tristan is my favorite character of all (just love him)...Mads' performance was excellent. Tristan's death seemed out of place in the movie; I wish his character had lived (the movie would have been better). Love his fight style!

I've just finished watching it, I really liked..mainly for looking at Mads beautiful face..*ahem*. There isn't much action adventure in it, but it is a very good film although not to everyones taste..

Oh I'm so so sorry to hear that. I'm so very sorry for your loss, and even though I didn't know her I am happy that, in my own small way, this video helped bring a little joy into her life.

I actually rented that film out, and my God, he' buff in it. Only made it about 27 mts., though, before the movie got boring. I may retry watching the entire thing, though I hope it picks up in action.

Hey! Ta for the kind words, and I know what you mean about Tristan, his fighting style just seemed so effortless :) Mads is a quality actor too, if you like his stuff i recommend a film called 'After the Wedding' - not Tristan-esque but a truly emotional performance all the same.

I'm back here to post to the author of this,..that my best friend Stacey loved this video more than any other video on KZfaq.Her favorite actor and character in this movie was Mads Mikkelsen. She just died recently of Esophageal Cancer,a rare and very deadly cancer. She watched this often with me,until near the end,cos she was at my home for most of it.I just wanted you to know this brought her much needed joy. God Bless my friend.My Stacey Baer.

Tom,this brought more than a little joy,she really loved it.And,as I think I mentioned in another post,she watched it right up until the end,perhaps a day or so before her death.At the point she was no longer conscious,filled with pain meds,to make her comfortable. So,...oodles of love to you,..you did make her smile.

Ive posted to this video before,but I just wanted to say hat this is the best video I have seen on KZfaq,or anywhere.Tristram shouldnt have died.It's a formula though,to make you like someone,kill him or her off,so that you get upset.Manipulating the audience to feel deeper for the situation. And,since she was such a munchbunny,it would have broken her heart. She was a dead ringer for an actress called Mira Sorvino.Anyway,again,my great thanks. :)

Guys,it wasnt Tristan. Its Tristram. He isnt the Iseult Tristan,who was of German extract.Both he and Iseult were both German,and Tristram was Sarmatian.
