dont take any notice of people saying they're bored. They're just addicted to idiots talking fast jargon. I'm sick of every talking-head thinking they have to nail me with automatic fire so I don't click off. You told me more about the bobber than any other review I've seen and gave me a 3D picture. This is valuable in a world of sound bites and 'review' junk

I borrowed one of these for a while and I largely agree with your review - for me the fuel tank range was the major negative...and if I had to keep one outside and put up with that corrosion, my OCD would go into overdrive! Nice review, thanks for posting...TMF

Excellent, informative, interesting review! Due to various disabilities ‘picked up’ through having multiple cancers, I can no longer ride (although I’m very, very grateful to be alive!) but man how I wish, wish, wish that I still could - it’d probably be a toss-up between this beauty and an Indian FTR 1200. But anyways, content like this provides a tiny, tiny bit of cycle-respite - nice one MCN - lots and lots more please!

I agree almost 100% with this review. Owned mine same amount of time, I've got 2500 miles on odometer. 1. Small tank is #1. But I knew that going in. My commute is nearly 45 to 55 mins, pending slow drivers. I have to fill up after every "there and back" trip bc if I try to squeeze a 3rd leg of the journey.... I'll arrive at "---" miles left in the tank. Lol yes, that's actually what it reads. 2. Coming from naked sports bikes previously, I scrape those chicken feet daily. I've scraped the edges of my boots and the exhaust can. But sometimes it's intentional.... 3. Cover since day one and it's kept outside. I don't see the corrosion the reviewer is getting. But I also clean it once a week. 4. Looks and people complimenting EVERYWHERE I go! Including in the middle.of the interstate in traffic! 5. Definitely a back road bike but she holds her own on the interstate. At 80, she sits at 3400 rpm. So your mpg isn't gonna be the greatest with that. However, going easy and on back roads, I've seen the claimed 65. But who buys a bike like this and wants to go easy? 6. Lack of aftermarket right now because so new. There's like 5, maybe, exhaust options? 3 de cat x pipes. Just bought free spirits de cat x pipe and I'll probably just cut the silencers off and heat wrap before spending money on a slip on. See if the cheapest route happens to get the sound I want. Great review and love the channel!! Btw I'm in Maryland in the states, not the UK. So perhaps there isn't the humidity issue as much as over there! (Referring to corrosion)

If you want a nice bobbed look without the oil stain in the garage, and some real power, this is a hard bike to beat. The brakes are the very weak link IMO, and it was nice to see Triumph add the second disc up front on the Bobber Black for 18.

This is my second go at watching this review because I am actually actively considering buying a Bobber. Last time I got to about 8minutes. This time I just made it to bit about the corrosion. For a commercial organisation this is poor. Watch The Missenden flyer for how to do this sort of thing. mind you, I've seen some other MCN vids which have been badly made. Content is there, it's just the delivery and the editing.

You can take the weight of the backpack off your shoulders by using a backpack which has a hip belt, putting the weight onto your hips for upper body relief, and it will not put strain onto your hips.

My 14 plate 865 Bonnie has lived outside, sometimes covered and used in rain and has no obvious signs of corrosion as i treat it with ACF50 about 3 times in winter and throughout summer i spray cheaper GT 85 over all the fixings and engine casings.as for the discs what bikes discs dont show a bit of surface rust when left standing the pads will scrub that off almost immediately after use. Good review though im just being a bit pedantic 👍

I love Triumph and I have a 17 Bobber.. I bought a Indian Bobber the 1st day they were released just over a month ago.. I have to be honest.. I optioned for spokes and mini apes which i love and ive ridden both from here in Vail Colorado to my business in Los Angeles non stop.. Ive ridden both also from Colorado to Dallas non stop where I have rental property and its exactly 1000 miles from door to door.. I have pipes on both and the Indian is much more agile and comfortable.. The Triumph is GREAT but I just seem to migrate to my Indian when I grab keys. its also MUCH FASTER with the 112hp it dynoed after V&H GRENADE exhaust,ecu flash and a tune. I cant get over 76hp on the Triumph with same mods..I dont really like the seat on the Triumph.. it needs something to take away that strange floating look. I actuall have had one made that will look more Bates hard mounted style. I miss the Thruxton I traded for it.

Great in depth review thanks. :) I am seriously thinking of getting one but the tank rang is putting me off. I like to fill my bike up on a Sunday and do the commute all week without going to the petrol station. I do about 110 miles commuting in a week so not much. Sold my GSXR 750 as it's tank range was 100 miles if I was careful, which you can't be on a sports bike. Ruined a really nice bike. Seems triumph have made the same mistake. I hope they do a larger tank as an option. Will go and have a look. If not may look at something else. Maybe a CB1100

Has anyone tried touring on one of these? I tour long distance on a 2015 Indian Scout. All it needs is a luggage rack on that rear mudguard and some decent big saddle bags. I'd personally put a big old (detachable) windscreen on it too (yeh yeh - I know - it would ruin the looks and concept but I'd do it all the same)......but you could tour a la Easy Rider without the wind screen of course. Anyone with a Trumpy Bobber done it yet? (tour long distance with luggage I mean).

Nice looking but I quickly got bored when I took a test ride. It's not as dynamic as I hoped... before you shoot me down I know it's not meant for that but I prefer the poke and pull of the Indian Scout so for me I'm waiting for the Indian Scout Bobber. That's what I love about biking though, everyone is different and looking for something individual to them (apart from most R1200GS riders but best not go into that!). If we were all cut from thr same cloth the tapestry of life would be bloody bland.

If the bumps are jarring your spine, you might want to go ahead and try to move the seat back a bit. Your knees should be just above your toes. Kind of like doing squats while lifting. I ride with the balls of my feet on the pegs, instead of back towards the arch, and it's easy to shift my weight to my legs, which soaks up the bumps really well. I commute on a Harley Roadster. This side of the pond and all. Traded a Triumph Thunderbird for it, and got like 2000 off of sticker, 3000 cheaper than the T-120 I was looking at. Loved the Bird, used to commute 300 miles a week on it, but it is a heavy beast. I rode the T-120, and had it narrowed to that or the Roadster, but 3K off and it was over. Waiting for the new Speed, done up on the same frame. That bike looks the gear.

Stretch Man This doesn’t work to well with bobbers usually. I know this is not the same ergo as actual bobbers but I assume it’s similar. Usually the reach and pegs are so far forward that if you move the seat back it makes it worse
@stretchman490
@stretchman490 6 жыл бұрын
Not really an issue if you're taller. On this bike, the seat is adjustable, and will slide back on a rail. If you are too tucked, and can't get your feet under you, the ride will suck. Same goes for smaller riders who have the seat too far back. Might want to try it in a more forward position. I guess that is why it is adjustable.

Its just to expensive, hence there's not shitloads of them being sold, at $20,000 there is way to many other bikes to choose that would do everything better. I was seriously considering buying one, until I worked it out that to customise it to my vision of the Bobber was $25000 ride away, now we are in some seriously better bikes for value range, hence I didn't buy one, but bought something else.

Im in Australia, so they are Australian prices, the Bobber retails a shade under $20,000aud on road ride away. But once you black out the motor, put on the shortened front and rear guards plus ape hanger bars, decent looking pipes the price goes up and up, my biggest dislike for the Bobber is actually the tank, Triumph really missed the boat on that one detail, you google the T100 of the 60's, far nicer tank, the tank should have been seamless, same capacity, but would look smaller.
@Fuji29er

James Matheson o, ok! Yeah ... the seam on the tank is another common complaint from folks. Doesn't bother me, but I wasn't exactly around in the 60's and 70's to appreciate the full nostalgia! Ha ha glad you ended up with something you liked regardless! !

Using one or two fingers for the majority of stopping power with a single front disc brake will not give you the proper leverage to get the most out of any front moto brake. You either need to beef up mate, and improve your grip strength, or use all four fingers versus whining.

Foo Cue this is common with riders that are used to those new brakes... the single works fine if you squeeze hard enough haha

Its a bobber but surely it can have a decent brake. They were putting calipers like that on 250s back in the '70s!

I hate to have to agree with the "negative" comments but watching this truly is a snooze vest. The accent with the monotone voice makes it very hard to watch.
