@Edwin They could never get over the fact they were looked at as RUSH's Little Brothers, as they always opened for Rush on Tour, never the other way around when they played together. RUSH got the Nerds, The Intellectuals, and the other so called Not Normals, while Triumph got the Jocks, the Cheerleaders, and the In the Know style of Fans. Prog with deep intellectual stimulation Wordology, RUSH, Pop Power Pop, and the Odd Hard Rock-Rock and Roll Machine etc. Southern Ontario's Top 2 Trios, leaving the next in line of that era FM, far behind.

@@toddstevens13 You have no clue. 1st: Triumph NEVER, EVER opened for RUSH or ever played at the same concert ffs. THEY NEVER PLAYED ON TOUR TOGETHER. EVER. That would be any REAL fans clue you have zero credibility. 2ndly: Triumph never got bigger because RIK EMMETT left the band. Emmett stated: “The reason why I left the band [Triumph] was because I couldn’t do things I wanted to do in the Triumph situation. There was also pressure from managers, agents and even the record company at the time saying, you don’t want to get too far away from the hard rock sound. I think it’s true the band reflected the personalities and the characters of the three of us and it’s kind of like sometimes the things that make a band good and unique are also the kind of things that creates tension and stress inside the band. That eventually maybe are the things that are going to break the band up. John Lennon and Paul McCartney would be the supreme example.” But it makes sense that you're from Ontario. The rest Canada agrees, Ontarians think they know everything.

🇨🇦😎 lovin it from Toronto Canada........Triumph was a Canadian hard rock band formed in 1975 that was popular in the late 1970s and the 1980s, building on its reputation and success as a live band. Between its 16 albums and DVDs, it has received 18 gold and nine platinum awards in Canada and the United States.

Singers today just don’t sing like this anymore. Singers today just play it safe and don’t push themselves. Artists used to take chances and play music that had its own identity. Music today just seems too calculated and formulaic.

Love me some Triumph... Never saw them in person, but always loved the Canadian bands. So much talent with them -- Rush, Triumph, Guess Who, April Wine, the list goes on and on. Triumph always delivered time and time again. Used to play this in the car all the time -- had it on 8-track, as a matter of fact. Learned most of my songs there, really. There is a beautiful crescendo at the 6:55- 7:00 minute mark -- so POWERFUL !! Played that song over and over many times in the basement on Saturday when Mom and Dad went grocery shopping -- that's really where I learned my chops. When you hear a song like this, it instantly brings you back to that eime, and who you were with, and focusing on all of those memories just makes you smile !! LOVW IT !! Thanks, Kristin for playing what you do. You do a GREAT job !! We are with you !!

Saw the "Allied Forces" tour in 1981, 14th row on the floor. It was, honestly, one of the great rock shows I've seen in my 51 years. Gil Moore is the unsung hero of this band, his drums and vocals were key (he took lead on a few songs, not just back ups). Glad you're enjoying the stuff that was new to us way back when... and is now "classic rock", LOL. You live long enough, you see all that was once new become old hat to someone else... smdh.

Saw Thunder 7 at MLG in '85. Triumph's music is best enjoyed in the heart - a truly talented trio. Always a joker, I would tell my friends that the song was originally named, "Magic Powder"... 'cos "a little magic powder makes it better than it seems...♫". Of course, I also told 'em that Ozzy's "Crazy Train" was originally named, "Gravy Train". Cheers to a fellow Triumph fan!

Rik Emmett is such an under rated guitarist and singer. His voice is as good as his guitar playing. I was a lonely teen living in the sticks when I discovered their "Just a Game" album back in 1979. Another killer 3 man band from Canada. " Lay it on the Line, Fight the Good Fight, Allied Forces, and Hold On" are some other good choices.

I think even though they did have some success they just couldn't seem to climb out of the shadow of Rush which btw they credit for opening the door for Canadian hard rock bands like them. Other bands like Boston which I love as well seemed to over shadow them. It's a shame that such a great band just couldn't seem to quite break out of those shadows. BTW Triumph was a trio but for some reason after 12 years of being a professional band decided to add a 4th guy on this concert. I was only 20 at this time and as cliche as it sounds time flies. My kids are older than I was then and to quote that other Canadian trio time stand still, please. I remember when girls had 2 story high hair and 3 inches of makeup lol and yes I had a mullet myself lol. Some of the best times of my life. This same year they had the album sport of kings which was a great and underrated album.

Hello from the great white north. Was out looking for tunes and ended up here. I was at that concert. I was 25 and baked outta my mind, lol. You ever notice that most Canadian singers also play instruments? At least the good ones. If you ever are looking for something different, try this song by another Canadian band, NEIL YOUNG AND CRAZY HORSE. He also is the lead guitarist and lead singer kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q75pnpyS1L6al58.html Peace and Love from New Brunswick, Canada, my new music loving youtube friend.

@@KristinKali wow, lol, this was awhile ago.....I dont even remember posting it. ..Well honestly, I'd now recommend RORY GALLAGHER if you're looking for new good tunes. I just rediscovered him myself...An Irish blues and rock guitarist and singer that influenced Alex Lifeson, Brian May and Slash, to name a few. Try this one: Do You Read Me kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bqmcqdR-m8rOZ4E.html

I should add that RORY was an act that RUSH used to open for in the early 70's. Then when Rush got big, Rory opened for them. So old Rush fans will know the man, or should.
