Nice bike,video and modifications....Agree,the throttle spacer and fuel booster has made huge improvement. Fitted a less restrictive air filter too,while at it,which compliments the de-cat pipe (Zard) that was fitted by the previous owner. It now performs as it should,I feel,but have purchased a smaller rear sprocket (39)to fit, as the standard 42 gearing is too responsive and revvy,even in 6th gear. Next mods will be YSS shocks and progressive fork springs and emulator valves. I think that should do it! Enjoy,and ride safe.

Too responsive? It's a 100hp bike, not a Busa... haha

Hi, excellent vid, with anew and practical approach to an every day motorcycle. I’ve owned one for over a year and it has proven first class in all areas of use. Last summer I toured it round the north of Scotland for a couple of thousand miles finding it a more than adequate steed, my friends riding street and speed triples. I would strongly recommend SW Motech blaze panniers as they proved to be first class kit for this bike when touring. I look forward to your next vid with the sound of those pipes, I want some !

May I ask if you have had any issues with squealing front brakes on your Speed Twin? I have read that many owners have had the issue and not had a quick fix from Triumph. I am test riding one tomorrow hence asking an owner who has done some miles on one. Thanks.

@@leeallen8840 Picked mine up three weeks ago and have had zero squeal in just over 1,000 miles.

Without doubt the 2 best real world upgrades to make are the throttle spacers and the booster plug. Transformed my riding experience, no snatch on off with the throttle. The next most important upgrade is the suspension. Anything better than standard Hagon or Ikons are a great value for money alternative to the big money Ohlins/Maxton ect.
@galeriafuentes3 жыл бұрын
so spend 12K for bike then invest another 1k to make bike ride better ? Crazy
@SquireSCA2 жыл бұрын
The best mod you can do is is flash the ECU with TuneECU and get rid of all the ride by wire restrictions. They hold the bike back. Doesn't matter how much throttle you give it, the ECU never gives you more than 90% power. You have to flash the ECU to get rid of that stuff and deliver full power. Easy to do yourself...

Great mods. Could you tell me where you have got the tank strap from please? Looks great.

Nice video! Any thoughts on what suspension you want to buy? I'm still in deciding between something like a YSS shock with preload rebound adjustment only or fully adjustable shocks. Did you change the springs in the front too?
@jakejokerdef4 жыл бұрын
I’m thinking about the YSS shocks. They usually are a bit tightly sprung so I’ll specify the spring for my weight so that they are comfortable. The front still has the original springs and TEC bikes adjusters. I’ll peopably change the springs to progressive ones they offer. Unfortunately due to the Covid 19 they don’t deliver them now. So I’ll have to wait. Thanks!
@grogers89944 жыл бұрын
Hi. I've put the springs and adjusters on mine. If you look on Triumph Rat (search for Speed Twin Suspension Mods) I detail pros and cons. Re shocks YSS are the best for the money. Preload and rebound are a good start point. Do you normally set your suspension up? If not sag settings via preload is the most important. Then dabbling in rebound. If depends what you want to spend but also how much you want to mess around setting them up. Preload itself can take a while. Comp and Rebound takes trial and error after that.

Cut down your airbox inlet boot for better flow. Then do the cat delete x-pipe and let it idle for 15-20 min. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

I have to say that you English is excellent. (I could detect an accent, and later on I discovered it was Finnish.) I noticed that your front fork has adjustment, as the normal fork leg caps are different from mine. What have you fitted?
@jakejokerdef4 жыл бұрын
Peter Hatfield thank you! I fitted TEC Bikeparts fork spring preload adjusters. You can see them better in the vol2 video. I’m considering fitting their springs also, but at the moment (due to Covid19) they are unable tho ship them to me.

The weather up here in the north has turned cold again, but it should turn next week. I hope :)

Did you take out the cat and put in the X-pipe? That improves the sound so much and you feel a bit more torque in the low RPM.

Hi Jake, I notice TEC have two sets of front fork springs upgrades, one for one £139 and one for £70, which one did you use?
@jakejokerdef3 жыл бұрын
I actually have Wilbers progressive front springs and TEC spring adjusters. So I would recommend the 139£ kit as then you can set the spring to your weight and riding style.

Hi ! Do you have a link for the throttle spacers ? Would love to add them to my Speed Twin !
Tail tidy looks smaller on Evotech site, did you use some parts from the original licence plate holder?

Only a black plastic backplate that holds the licence plate in place. Other than that it’s only Evotech parts. Finnish licence plates are large... Unfortunately

Where can I purchase those exhaust pipes ? I have a 2020 speed twin.
Is it possible to remove that silver plate on the side with speed twin written on it?
@jakejokerdef3 жыл бұрын
The silver plate is attached to the black plastic airbox cover. I think it is attached with small screws, so it is possible to remove it. But it may damage the part as I doubt it is meant to be removed.

@@jakejokerdef will another airbox cover from street twin or another bonneville model fit? That is the only thing in my eyes that is spoiling the side... speed twin...god
@jakejokerdef3 жыл бұрын
I know the Speedtwin and Thruxton 1200 frame is the same, so the airbox cover attachment holes with rubber grommets should be identical. The Street Twin has a different frame so that I doubt would fit

Tank strap looks good ....but the pin is ugly, they could have hidden it
@jakejokerdef4 жыл бұрын
The pin is actually my doing 🤓 I’s a used hand grenade pin and it was the first thing that fit there that I had available. So it’s not the Italians to blame for that 😉

@@lucianofavalli5492 Luciano. I love the strap .... it's just the pin that is wrong. When I was a boy I had a crash and the tank came off and I got covered in petrol. It is good to have a quick release for cleaning and servicing, but it needs to be safe and secure and look right. Please design something smooth and discrete and your life's work is done.... ciao!
