if i had a nickel for every time a drag queen has mentioned on youtube that they go/went on tumblr for porn, i'd have two nickels-which isn't a lot but you'd think it'd be enough for staff to notice and actually try to find a way to bring porn back while keeping Apple's catholic priests appeased since they'd make way more money than trying to get people to buy fucking digital crabs.

It's "radical" because conservatives and the Reagan era convinced everyone that it is the right thing for a small group of people to amass all the wealth and the rest of us get to beg for the crumbs. So. Couple things re: P!nk: -her stage name was what the door staff at a nightclub she performed at in Philadelphia as a teenager called her. She’s told the story a few different ways, but it always comes back to the predominantly Black staff at the club all started calling her “Pinky” and then eventually that became P!nk -She did not start out making christian music. Her first musical ventures were all R&B -The trapeze acts started out because she wanted the tour for her album Funhouse to be circus-themed. She fell in love with aerial training as a means to stay in shape, so she kept doing it & the act continued on in her repertoire. -Unrelated but Christina Aguilera once tried to punch her

LOL ok well, the entire MO of being Amish is essentially rejecting modernity and embracing tradition💀 as long as they are not the ones operating the modern function (I.e. electricity, etc) that’s their loophole. So if they go somewhere where they cannot take their horse + buggy to, they will take a van. They will hire a private driver to drive them wherever they want to go (the mall, in my experience) and load up the van. For air travel, it’s the same principle. They’re not the ones reliant on the electricity/technology required for air travel (TSA, pilots, flight attendants) so that’s the mental loophole. They’re just passengers and not operating the functions of the plane, so they see that as fine. This doesn’t mean that they’re not in their seat watching the RHONY, but that’s the mindset - that they’re not reliant on the tech and “modernity” so it’s fine. It’s also important to note that conservative Mennonites are often confused for the Amish because they dress similarly, but they do not abide by the same stringent no electricity/no tech/no modernity rules the Amish do. You can sometimes tell the difference between Amish and Mennonites by the dress. If a man in the group is wearing jeans, they’re likely Mennonite instead of Amish💀

Honestly drag queens should be allowed into the American Guild of Musical Artists/ SAG AFTRA. They are performers. Some dance and lipsync, some do comedy, some write and perform their own music. They deserve to be protected the same way actors, dancers, and music artists are.

I’m not sure that would happen but hopefully there can be stipulations/standards put in place. I know certain queens are SAG-AFTRA card holders, like Jinkx, but that is solely for movie/tv studio productions. So like Jinkx rn can do live theater performances and tour without getting her union card revoked (and not being a scab).

True . However Katya endorsing cat food is about as disingenuous as Trixie selling hair gel. He has voiced his intense dislike of felines several times both on this podcast and on “Unhhhh.” I don’t know who thought it was a good idea, Katya does not suffer cats! 😂

As someone who grew up orthodox Jewish trixie, we can’t say Alexa or use those kinds of things, there are some loopholes but there’s mainly a list of 39 “malachot” which means working or like jobs. So we can’t use lights or cars or tv or anything like that and there’s mini subsections of stuff you can’t do because it’s not appropriate for sabbath regardless of if it’s one of the 39 malachot

As a Laotion raised by Buddhist parents, I had to be a monk for 3 days around 5th grade. It was both enjoyable and a bit difficult. A lot of Laotion-american parents like to have their son(s) "buat" which the best I can describe it would be like a right of passage and ensure the parents will pass away peacefully.

In my experience the third day is the hardest then it gets easier so maybe thats why; it's probably enough to give you the experience and challenge of sitting in silence but short enough for anyone to both endure and reap some benefits from.

I grew up in PA where there are a lot of Amish and things like being allowed to fly is up to the bishop. For very certain reasons they'll give permission. One of my friends dad had a carpentry business, and he was so successful that "english" (non-Amish) customers where buying from him. He made a case to the Bishop about being allowed to have a company phone, and the bishop said yes BUT! it had to be in a shed separate for the workshop, and NO ONE other than him could use it, and obviously it was for work only.

@@maybemablemaples2144 Woah.... I'm going to explain this with the assumption that you're just really young: They absolutely are not all rude and unfriendly. There are problems in closed religious communities, and I have issues with religion in general for many reasons including the ones I mentioned, but that doesn't mean they're all bad people. Wary of English people, yes (that's what they call us). And calling us 'normies' is implying they're somehow abnormal because they aren't like you, which is discriminatory. Just like saying they're all rude and unfriendly. They keep to themselves because they're taught to. Try not to take it personal.
