As a 700-800 player, I can vouch for an ending like that. Being up 23 points, having taken your opponent’s entire army and then losing because you didn’t notice you were in a position of checkmate with the one piece they had left.

14:15. as a former low elo player, i can tell u why he was thinking. the problem is, as a low elo player , u cant calculate well so if someone makes a move that apparently hangs the piece, u want to think twice before taking because u think that the opponent has something up his sleeve and thats why it took a while to make that move. i often did that too
