Definitely! I use a variety of rigs depending on target, so I can walk through what I am targeting and the rig selection/why on an upcoming video. A lot of times I’m making the rigs ahead of time due to the crazy number of sharks we have in NC, you’ll lose a lot of them bottom fishing. Thanks for watching!

@@TopsailFishing I also think it would be awesome if you could show how to anchor over a shipwreck/reek the correct way with out getting a anchor stuck

@@user-ie4tr5dg7d Will do - anchor ball is your best bet for getting it up without issue and having a good light weight anchor like Fortress/Guardian but can walk through it next time I pull up off some structure.

We were about 10-15 miles out, going around the 6 fathom line. Water was super clear and blue near shore recently.

@@TopsailFishing man I’ve been itching to get out there. Winds have really laid out recently. Of course they looking iffy for snapper season🤣

@@livebaitfishing4030 Yeah, I am keeping an eye on Saturday morning. Debating if I even bring the camera if I go, since winds will be slappy, and might just snag my snapper and get out - we'll see. Wish they did tags instead.

Eyeing Sunday, hoping wind stays down some models have it little gusty but maybe do some near shore trolling if it’s not too bad.

@@TopsailFishing yeah same man if it flattens down a tiny bit might push around 20-30 try and get a lucky hoo and scattered mahi. What channel you run on? I head out of topsails too will be in a 285 freeman

I do sometimes, just depends on the target species and time of year. You have two options for Topsail for getting into the ocean - New River (north inlet) or the New Topsail Inlet (south) and Surf City is in between them. There are some good spots nearshore Surf City though, but you’d access them from either the north or south still. I’d expect some people to start looking for Tarpon on the beach around there very soon. Always Spanish on the beach in the summer, I have a Spanish video from last year running and gunning off the beach near Surf City. But for the most part, on the beach is limited to kingfish, Spanish, Cobia and tarpon and it’s very dependent on time of year and the last two are much easier with a tuna tower in the boat to sight fish which I don’t have.
