Trolling Solo- Puget Sound

Жыл бұрынYeah so I launched at Shilshole and went around to West Point to throw a crab pot and go fishing via the trolling method. The fish were there; the outgoing tide had bait swimming along the steep breaking bank in relatively shallow water. So I used a spoon, flasher and downrigger. I should probably wear a life jacket since the boat swims faster than I do.

Nice fish! Would definitely recommend a lifejacket, they make some with some handy pockets too.

Heckuva day! I troll solo in my 13’ Whaler out there. Looks awfully familiar, though I finally invested in an electric downrigger. Worth every penny. See you on the water!

Thanks to your videos, I've been learning and caught my first pink salmon ever on the sound. I don't have a down rigger setup, but got inspired from your non-downrigger setup. Hope to see you around!

I'm in a yellow duroboat, 14 ft. I also live out in the area that you've fished in at 8-2. If I catch you, I will definitely be hollering. :-) @@FishinOriginal I'll be going out every week on Fri-Sat, and maybe Sunday!!!

Nice work on the water! Love your content man! I have the same downriggers, and I don't use the built-in rod holders (they're a pain). Instead I use my gunwhale-mount rod holders and it works so much better.

Great video and love love love your contents! I have a small 12 feet aluminum boat and thinking to add a down rigger and down rigger rod. Which Scotty down rigger model do you use and rod?

It’s a Scotty Strongarm 24” and I mostly have Okuma trolling stuff. Okuma classic and Okuma Magda

How does the braid treat the clips ?

Doesn’t affect it really, but when the clips are especially old, braid doesn’t hold well. Use 50 or 65 pound
