1987 called with the old school Reliable belt and kidney harness I have one like that still function better than most of the new fancy stuff. When you get a bite you should turn into the fish so. you can keep the fish a bit to the side vs. bringing them near the stern.

I appreciated your segment and it made me smile. We live near the Sea of Cortez, East Cape, Baja Sur, MX. Our inshore time for yellowfin is August and so we are getting ready to have at it! There are yellowfin most the time here, but sometimes you have to head off shore 30 miles or more and I have about a 22’ SeaPro and don’t regularly go out that far. Anyways, I have been running splash birds and squid chains catching marlin, skip jack among other fish. However, I want to get ready for yellowfin tuna trolling with a total splash bird squid chain spread INSTEAD of a single shotgun. Excuse me - but I just purchased some Hogy birds w/squids. They work fine. I make some of my own squid chains. NOW - I want to look into your Sterling Tackle crazy eights to add a dash more splash! I wonder IF you have ever have run live bait as the stinger at the end of one of the daisy chains or bird splash? My plan is to experiment by running a couple of as a stinger ballyhoo off the squid chains. Tight lines and good times.

Dude those trackers changed the game. I was fishing off a 16ft starcraft the past couple years and traveling up to 45 miles offshore for pelagics. I can troll on the right day 9 rods. When I'm solo I stick to 7. Last year I got a couple school bluefin and 52lb wahoo and close to 200 gaffer mahi off AC NJ. I'm really looking forward to this year as I've gotten a fiberglass 17 that I'm restoring and I'm determined to get a tilefish in a 17ft boat 😂
