Tromsø, the northern capital of Norway and gateway to the Arctic. Set 350 kilometres above the Arctic Circle it is a springboard for experiencing some major bucket list items. For us, we witnessed the Northern lights in spectacular fashion, finally witnessed Orcas in real life and enjoyed some time with reindeers and the adrenaline rush of sledding with Huskies.

@@iadamtravel did you film the Northern Lights with a DSLR camera? We go in 4 weeks & if we're lucky enough to see them we want to do as you did & film them as well as photographing, any tips & camera settings for videoing would be most welcome 🙂
@iadamtravel
@iadamtravel Жыл бұрын
@@mitchwitt9944 believe it or not, this was all filmed on an IPhone 13 Pro. The key thing is to have a tripod. To capture photos well with the northern lights the camera must have a longer exposure (you can donut to ten seconds with iPhone). But for this to work the phone has to be still the whole time. My advice - invest in a tripod, either for your phone or for your camera!

Wonderful! Inspiration for my own trip! I’m happy to see your whale watching tour appeared to maintain their distance from the humpbacks and orca, as I hear the regulations are not the best in Norway and can cause some behavioural changes in orca groups avoiding boats etc.. the group you saw appeared to be happy to surface multiple times which is good to see :)

Great video, you really captured the essence of Tromsø, so glad you got see all that you set out to! 👏🏔️🦌🐳🇳🇴 I visited for the first time at the end of October, just four days but on my second to last day in just a 24h time window, I experienced the first snowfall of winter, meeting & feeding reindeer, the fantastic view & subsequently getting caught in a snow storm at the top of the cable car mountain. Followed by unexpectedly sighting of the Northern lights which randomly appeared over the mountain down by the harbour, a truly unforgettable experience. Can we also take a moment to appreciate breathing in the pure arctic air, I just wish I could magic myself there whenever I wanted! 🇳🇴🏔️☺️

Did you shoot all the aurora parts on the phone? Or some other cam?

The videos are all on iPhone. Timelapse mostly. If you have a good guide they will show you how to- but a tripod is a MUST!

Hi. Pleased get the spelling right, it's Tromsø (pronounced Troomsur. approx) Thanks. Tusen Takk.

Thanks! I’m well aware of the correct spelling, however my keyboard doesn’t offer the Norge ‘O’. In any case I appreciate you taking time out of your day to police such things on KZfaq. I hope that everyone else who used the English ‘O’ also received such advice from you! Tusen Takk and Happy New Year :)

@@iadamtravel Hei. I wouldn't normally presume or be so rude as to correct people but I had to in this case, Tromsø being my Mother's home town. It is a problem when a keyboard doesn't provide the additional three letters in the Norsk alphabet. Congratulations on a fab vlog. Takk og et got ny år.

Based on what was told to me, this not what you really expect in real life. So boring, true?

Thanks for that 👍 personally I think the world would be a better place if people stopped feeling the need to get on their high horse and criticise from their keyboards! Thanks for watching 😅
