I feel on the fence. I really like Alsobrooks, but Trone’s ability to work with and win over some Republicans is really important, too. I’d vote for both if I could.

Excellent debate here. Trone and Alsobrooks are essentially two highly qualified individuals who are of the same mindset when it comes to the issues of the day. This race is not about the substance of the issues, but who is best suited to defeat Larry Hogan in November. Be wise Maryland, and do not the be state that returns control of the U.S. Senate to the Republican Party.

I've been torn between the 2 for a long time, but on balance, Alsobrooks would get my vote if I were a Marylander!!

A little bit of inconsistency on $$$ in politcs via Rep. Trone, asserting his influence over colleagues, Dems via his $20 million spending on their behalf, but that doesn't make him a "career politician" he's a public servant purchasing I guess all conscience votes on true blue issues....was there the inference that his $$$ to Larry Hogan was just an example of his ability to work "across the isle?"

Alsobrooks did amazing improvements to Prince George’s County families. She really cares about youth so she is not just saying, I believe she could make a difference.

Trone has shorter answers and speaks in a simpler, easier to understand way. Alsobrooks is much more polished and better at debating than Trone.

I really like that they didn’t attack each other! I love being a Democrat! We are “real people” and capable of governing effectively without being disrespectful of others and others’ opinions.

Initially, I was leaning towards Trone. But, as the debate went on, I found myself pretty impressed by Alsobrooks.

Trone works very effectively across parties and our country needs people like him to get things done. He's willing to work with people to find common ground, which I'm sure isn't easy. He has an A rating from League of Conservation Votes and he has passed a lot of legislation, especially dealing with our addiction crisis and mental health issues. He's effective.

Alsobrooks has my vote, she came up as genuine and sharp. I am in Trone’s district and have voted for him but after seeing him in this race I see him for what he really is: a walking superPAC with a lot of money. He has donated to republicans many times, and he calls that bipartisan when the republicans are the ones trying to burn this country. Overall, he came off as really disingenuous in this debate, I really don’t believe him when he started talking about the importance of abortion access…

Angela Alsbrooks is a career politician who never talk about her record. Prince George’s County has the worst school system in Maryland. She took money from lobbyists and developers. Aksbrooks mentor was disgraced politician Jack Johnson who she had a questionable relationship. Has county executive she spent 17 million dollars to fight Black and Latino policeman who EEOC ruled in there favor. That law firm Veneable is very political. She settled the case for 2.3 million dollar's. We will beat Larry Hogan with Congressman David Trone . Under her leadership Voter’s and African American's have moved to Charles's County that is now the richest County for African American citizens .

Democrats are the adults in the room when it comes to our Government! Thank God for these amazing candidates! Trone’s Congressional Seat would be empty if he gets the Senate seat, right? I would love to have AlsoBrooks in that vacated seat which might be much easier to obtain against a less formidable Congressional (R) candidate than Hogan.

I want them both! They are both impressing me! But the most important thing is who can beat Hogan-or maybe who can beat Hogan the most convincingly! We absolutely cannot be the State that gives control of the Senate to the dysfunctional (R) Party! No way! Not ever!

Once again, $$$ in politics. Alsobrooks charges Trone gave to Larry Hogan. How much and under what circumstances...a snub to Ben Jealous, or again, via the mechanism I'm not going to mention again, a broad conduit that has its own distribution patterns, which may or may not be independent of even $100,000 donors wishes. Boy, no cross examination pit bulls in this debate.

In "conclusion..." it's grew up on a failed farm with an alcoholic father versus working class family all the way...On the climate "crisis": both referenced Biden's signature Inflation Reduction Act, but the heart of that, the transition to electric vehicles is not going well: too few taking the $$$ incentives which still is not making them affordable for failing farmers and working class families...there is no breaktrhough on prices as there was with H. Ford's pioneering mass production models...and there was no planning in the IRA for coordinating the new grid; everything, the remedies of the greens and I am one, requires much more power but there is no federal coordination nor planning entity to say who pays for the new wires and infrastrure among generators, distributors and retailes of big E; oh yes, and the energy speculators in the spot Market. REforms of FERC? no mention of who runs our power grid in DMC area: PJM which runs three speculative energy markets. Yup, bidding and the higher price gets to set the price for the other bidders. Oh well...they only had an hour.
