It is mad when you think that Queen Mary would have seen trooping the colour during the reign of Victoria Edward, her husband George and her son and granddaughter! That’s 5 Monarchs!

How the officers present their swords has changed today compared to what is shown in this video. The Indian Army officers way of presenting their swords seems to still practice it like what is shown in this video, it shows how the British thought commonwealth armies their exact drill

Queen is still checking the drill movements looking for faults bet she has the Garrison Sargeant Major on speed dial.

I guess the British guards changed their drill after WW2. Their regulation pause of 2 seconds in their trooping in 1932, 1938, 1939 was reduced to quick rifle movements in the command "present arms", .... and "order arms" after the war. ... Check out Canadian troops nowadays 2018... they do it the way Brits did pre 1940 .... a regulation pause between weapons is much harder ... takes more practice and much finer detail ...

It's such a pity that some the marches played here have not been heard in the ceremony as of recent. For instance the quick march being played during the King's Inspection "Britain Advance". I don't think I have ever heard that march except here.
