Love the trooping of the colour, beautiful music and the different marching music for the guards.

... I love that HM The Queen is tapping her feet in time with the quick march.

It is not often commented upon, but when the Colour Guard first step off their commander refers to them as "Escort for the Colour". Once the Colour is i their possession they are "Escort to the Colour".

For those not having served in the British Army, the "Right Form", or how it is referred to in the All Arms Drill Manual, "Changing Direction Without Changing Formation" is a complete pain in the butt. All soldiers are taught it, but few master it, and you only ever do it in training. Only the Guards Divition can do it properly, but thats because they practise it every week, and they make it look so easy. Believe me, it isn't.

Semper Fidelis by John Phillip Sousa during the Massed Band Quick March Troop sequence is perfect!

50:15 Those of you wondering why the King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, do not have a flag as their colour; their guns are their colour, and to lose theem in battle would haave been the ultimate discrace

Can someone tell me why the pipers didn’t play on March past in QuickTime?
@davyflute90333 жыл бұрын
The pipers only play on the march past if it is their colour being trooped, in which case the pipers take up position at the front of the massed bands and a 5 pace roll is added before their regimental march to give them time to strike up. See the 2011 programme for an example. There is not enough time between the other guards to include rolls before their regimental marches.

17:11 Pretty odd way of ending the quick march. They usually do halt but continue to play untill the song is ended later. I am not sure why they decided to end it differently just in that year.

It has been edited, there was a third march: The Marine Corps Hymn was played at the halt.

@@howardscott1556 I see. I watched another video of it and you’re right. Not sure why they’d edit that out though.
