Growing banana plants from seed is an exciting journey. From small dry and dormant seeds you can quickly grow a large and lush banana plant. This video shows how I grew my banana plants from seed over a 12 month period, including seed preparation, banana seed sowing, potting on and eventually planting out my seed grown banana plants. What location is your garden? Do you have cold winters? Probably not, if you planted young seedlings outdoors…

Have you ever tried to grow musa basjoo from seed? I know they pup freely but as one of mine is flowering at the moment I just wondered if and when seeds might become ripe enough for collection.

I am trying this. I got seeds in Canada from Veseys mail order. I'm only 10 days into this process so let's see how this goes!

fun act you didn't know about the banana seeds, these banana seed were come from the non-commercial bananas, they were called the wild bananas aka the musa acuminata, so the next time you buy banana seeds think about what there fruit and there tree look like after growing them.

Well done but if you bought one by 12 months your probably going to have a couple pups which will pay for buying the first plant. Just another way to look at it.

Hey man question so let’s I start these seeds now, 3 month later they sprout, 6 months they look that big, any in between if I say screw It and plant them?

Had 2 germinate from 5 seed but 3 month later they are only about 10cm tall 😢 any advice? Also why does nobody seem to be growing ensete ventricosum( the green type) are they harder to overwinter than the maurelii or something? For something that germinates similar to sikkimensis there are very few available

Hello i watch yout video and its really very informative. I lived in Germany . But next year i will be living in Spain. I wanted to plants Banana. The usual banana we buy in Supermarket..But i cannot find any reliable source..Would it be possible to send me a couple of Banana seeds. Im willing to pay for it.. Thank you very much..
