Recently, I started having slow scale response on my Acaia scale and here are some tips on how to fix it. The main problem, I believe, is the Telcast as its a much cheaper tablet compares to say Samsung. The hardware parts, drivers and software optimization for bluetooth is not as robust as some of the branded ones (My opinion), since it only started to happen after some 6 months to 1 year of usage.
