Ive actually made this for a couple of years now. Not this recipe exactly... But still honey, cinnamon. I usually go for red food dye or yellow. Regular dough.. Flour (enough so it gets close to the powerbait consistency). 1 egg Half a teaspoon of salt Cinnamon 1-1.5 tablespoon Honey/Syrup 1-1.5 tablespoon Gold powder 1 big tablespoon Babyoil (organic) 1 tablespoon I usually add the babyoil and gold powder after stirring a little.. when its sticky, i add it.. and keep kneading it. Almost has a meatish look.. shiny and blinking. Strong cinnamon smell. Kneading it, gives a better dough and the colour spreads better.. make sure to get a good amount of glitter. Can add a tiny bit of water if needed. Good luck! Ive caught a lot of summer trouts in put and take on this.. when theyre super lazy.. this seems to work. Make a small tail on the dough and fish it actively.

This is the base ingredients I use to make my own dough bait except I also save the juice from a can or 2 of canned sweet corn (the jolly Green giant kind is best) and along with the cinnimon and honey I mix in the sweet corn juice ( my grand dad actually got the left over sweet corn on the cob from meals and used it and it does work better honestly but you can't always get corn on the cob when you wanna make up a batch) then I add the yellow food coloring and while it looks like power bait it's like power bait on Nitrous Oxide.... Trout can not resist the smell or taste......it works good in lakes best but also works good in slower moving mountain streams you just have to use a small bit of bait in a ball and push the smallest trebel hook you can get into it and form the bait around the hooks so it looks like a tear drop..... then drift fish it with a clear strike indicator or by feel and sight.....my son caught his biggest Rainbow to date this spring doing this exact thing.....it was just over 24" and a male and to his credit we took tons of photos and released the Fish back into the creek and the wife and I sent the measurements, exact weight and all the photos to Wildlife Creations thru Bass Pro Shops and the artist's they have made him an exact replica of the trout that in all honesty......looks better than the real fish.....it's on a chunk of root from a Ponderosa Pine like you would find in the creek and chasing a mayfly nymph ....complete with crawdads on the rocks and a pair of small 2-3 inch rock bass......it's hanging on the wall in our family room/den of our log house here in the Black Hills now with it's own small soft white spotlight shining on it and is a true trophy.

yes trout bait is better then power bait I even tried this one day in a new stocked lake caught 1 rainbow trout with power bait and the next day went to the same lake same spot caught 5 rainbow trout

I tweaked your recipe just a little. Added food dye to make an orange hue, sugar instead of honey, and some cotton fiber to keep it together. I'll see how it works, hopefully well!

The video does not show a few important points: 1 Floatation - does it float. 2 How to fish it 3 Storage, how to store and how long will it keep 4 There is no recipe with ingredients and mixing directions for the dough.

Power bait is a joke. When I came to Boston and heard about the powerbait, I laugh inside. I went out and bought a bag of mini marshmallows and caught just as much or more trouts as the other fishermen.

got a recipe from a guy catching stockies with his girlfriend. gave me a gob of it and was getting bites immediately. this is a mixture of jiffy mix cornmeal and cheerios multi grain ground up. the both of them probably caught over 60 trout that day.about 50 to 50 mix of cornmeal and cheerios add a little warm water and start kneading it.if it is too moist add more cornmeal or flour until you get the consistency of clay. always put some extra flour or cornmeal in with dough if it gets to moist.i added some garlic powder to mine but thats extra. put a ball on eye of hook and thats it. this shit really works. when done fishing put back in refridg. lasts for weeks

It's kinda funny that in every one of these recipe videos, they claim it works better than powerbait. Where I live and for the trout I fish for, powerbait doesn't work for shit... so the bait recipe couldn't do much worse.

My recipe is make home made dough then ass fish oil with some glitter or food color to make it different colors then add a Lil bit of gulp alive kneed and mix well store in zip lock bag I make most of the time one plane color one yellow one red one blue so I can find out what color they like I'm different spots as well as in the yellow dough bait I will sometimes add a Lil bit of egg white not the yoke just the egg white and not the shell makes it float lil bit better

No. Powerbait was developed by fisheries scientists back during the conception of Pure Fishing. They're not going to be bested by garage/kitchen play. "Put-in / take-out" state stocked trout will chew the leg off a Barbie doll for the first week or so. The trick is, they learn fast. The ol Velveeta & garlic salt trick is soon lost.

Not accurate I ended up using a stick as bait. (I ACTUALY CAUGHT A FISH WITH THE STICK)

Try kneading in some cheap glitter with it and you could make a dyed glitter dough that works really well for whatever is feeding in YOUR area at the time.
