An old man here, just thinking… How long will it take Houston to realize that how much he has learned to be a man by hanging out with his dad and other family men. How to act, carry on, to enjoy life without booze or drugs. Don’t change Houston, enjoy life and learn from your Dad and fine gentleman like the men that you were with on this trip. You are a fine young man yourself.👍

Daniel, that river is nothing compared to the Smith River, in Northwestern California, just below the Oregon border. You truly have never seen a more pristine river in the States, than it. Back in the sixties, when I was a kid, I watched my dad and others pull 40 pound, bright silver, salmon out of it, not to mention the steelhead, that come out of it. Google it, if you have never, and check it out. Plus, it is in Redwood country, where you will see some of the biggest, and oldest trees, around. Also, it runs right into the Pacific Ocean, a mere ten or so miles, from the best fishing holes! It was pretty magical, growing up there! I love your fishing videos! Can you tell?

Just found your videos and have been watching them over the past two days. I am really enjoying the sights and sounds of "Home". Yeah, I'm from Sulphur, graduated in 1965. We lived about 4.5 miles out north of town on Hwy 177. My parents were Barclay and Elva Martin. We had always planned on moving back when Mom and Dad could no longer take care of the farm but the May - 2016 tornado took out the house, and there was no way to fix it without tearing it down and building new. Mom and Dad decided they were too old to go through that process, so they got a place in town. When Dad died in 2019 we sold the place to Don Brown and he bulldozed everything and added it to his pastures. I spend a good deal of time just trying to picture your locations in my memory... About the old .22 rifle you found...it appears to be a Stevens "Favorite" or "Crackshot". It probably is a .22 rimfire, but could be a .25 rimfire or even .32 rimfire. The larger rifles are pretty rare with the .25 rimfire being the rarest. .25 rimfire ammo is no longer made, but small batches of .32 rimfire ammo is occasionally run every few years. Stevens built these rifles around the turn of the century in 1900. The company and its various models were sold to the Savage Arms Company and they continued to make them for a few years. I hope you eventually get it back into action. They are fantastic plinking rifles and generally shoot better than most people that use them.

Good to see u trout fish also, I did that growing up with my Dad. The easiest way I found to trout fish is go a few hours after they plant the river and U can just walk down along the bank. I did that one time and when they had planted albino trout and I got 2 limits with a net. It was awesome!
