I went trout fishing with jerkbaits at one of my favorite creeks! The creek was low and stained. Fishing started slow with lots of dinks but ended with a bang! I ended up catching some really nice trout on jerkbaits!

I need to find some rivers around me to try some of these baits. Most of the rivers I've fished in the past are flies only, but this looks like it would be fun!

The reflectivity of that lure is cool. That should flash and draw them right in! PK That brown around the 9 minute mark was a great catch.

I've slayed trout with rapala countdowns and with the cd7 I've caught a few steelhead. Change to single hooks for better landing ratio

Thanks for the videos! If you haven’t, try trout magnets crank bait, it works like a jerk bait too, I caught a 19 inch fat wild brown on it last weekend. 4lb test ultralight rod

Nice video fish hawk. Wish the streams in western maryland held trout like that through the summer. They aren’t stocking browns here for a while to help Brook trout populations they say but it don’t do much difference just makes all the creeks and streams void of anything in the summer around here. Without a chance for wild browns 😢 plus people keep and kill everything bait fishing and not releasing right when they do release them.

i thought i was the only one who fished trout with small jerkbaits, I've been doing that for that for the last several months when worms and minnows failed. I was killing them with the trout magnet crank and the yozuri pin minnow

Hey fish hawk I just purchased the 6 ft light fish hawk rod and I absolutely love it alot of play and very good control and sensitivity. I noticed in your videos yours is a slight bit different. Yours doesn't say dark matter and it looks like your Cork handle goes up a little further. Just curious. Love your videos and fishing rods keep up the hard work 👍

Glad you like it! Yes mine is slightly different because mine is the original sample. The final version has Dark Matter logo and shorter cork fore grip but everything else is identical.

Water was so clear the other day that it was almost impossible to sneak up on the big holes. When fishing rivers I prefer the water a little murky.

Where do you go to catch them, it seems like all the smaller streams here in southwest Washington are closed to fishing for some reason , just getting into trout fishing. Mainly been a bass and catfish guy my whole life till I moved to the north west . Been checking out some of those mountain lakes up near mt st Helen’s, saw tons of trout in that clear water but no bites no matter what I threw at em !!! Lol

Definitely crimp the barb down, but there's still high risk of the fish dying.

I always use a jerk bait second after I use corn and the trout then get tired of it and powerboat then I go to a jerkbait and then a spinner amd then trout magnets

I found it works well when casting downstream, to treat the jerkbait like a spoon. Cast at 90° or lower, allow the bait to work itself in the main current, maybe give it some light wiggles or jerks, then use about 10 slow retireves as it starts to swing back across. I always follow the bait with my rod tip too.

Upgrade to single hooks so you're not killing the tiny guys with a treble that's as large as their mouth.

The jerk bait that you're using looks pretty decent under the water, for sure it does. Here in Pennsylvania as of right now the weather is so hot the trout ain't biting. So I'm trying to get my Bass gear stuff together, want to try something a little bit different and new that I never did before. Some things I know what to get for bass like crayfish, feather jigs or hair jigs and Berkley powerbait ripple shad. Great fish catching, great video and I enjoyed watching. 👍👍👍👍👍

Hey Shawn try the Berkley gulp minnows in the package with a little lead head hook stockie trout luv them along with smallies actually caught 7lb catfish on one in the Susquehanna River

Can’t go wrong with a ned rig, fluke, senko, spinnerbait
