Yes, it's because this thing is a pile of junk. I have the same machine, same problem. There appears to be no answer, besides it's a common problem that the dealers fix with a new block! This machine has been garbage since new. I bought it for my dad one year for Christmas. He used it a couple months, and the carb quit. It sat for a couple of years because after he bought a real machine, then I decided against good judgement to fix it. I put a new carb on it, it lasted about a year and this nonsense happened. Note, I don't think this thing has made it past 10 hours of use total. I will tear it down when I get a chance and if I remember post what happened - but after that it's going in the garbage where it belonged to begin with.

Did you put too much oil in it? It's supposed to hold Only 2.03 ounces of oil; NOT much, but it's a small engine, so put sum good stuff in it! Straight 30W, or 20w50. Do NOT use 10w30 or any thinner. I didn't use it very long, just long enough to get it good & warm. If it doesn't have too much oil, could be valves need adjustment. If it's spitting a Lot of oil out like you say, valves must be more than just a little out of adjustment. Look for a video how to adjust the valves. Let me know what you find out. - take care
