Күн бұрынI recently picked up a Seiko 7548 Quartz Diver and it needs some work. This will be tricky but I want to see what I can salvage from this movement before replacing it entirely.

Gas or vapor from the battery will attack anything containing copper and will cause nickel to peel. I bet the brown date wheel had a special blend of copper plating. Many cd players -especially after the miniature surface mount pcbs came along, have complete trace rot. Non fixable because you can't easily bridge the gaps with wire. I wouldn't fret the tritium. Just wet it to avoid airborne particles.

Yeah that circuit DEFINITELY is gone. I wish I new more about electronics/wiring/circuitry! Very cool stuff, but yeah can't save everything. Thanks for watching!

Hey, welcome back! I have since removed the lume off the dial and hands because I don't like messing with that stuff. Also the lume is all dead so yeah I'm gonna fix it. This will be a long project but should turn out nicely. Thanks for watching as always!

Reading the various Seiko discussion forums, the overwhelming consensus is that the "T" and or "R" on Seiko dials don't follow the Swiss convention. On Seikos, they dont designate Tritium or Radium, they stand for 2 different factories. I have a few 6139s, some with T dials, some with R dials and one that says "T AD." The same watch dial, but slightly different shades.
