Начиная с апреля 1992 года, сербские четники, включающие разные банды (в частности, мрачный теневой сербский корпус "Скорпион"), при поддержке сербской армии захватывали один за другим боснийские города и деревни в восточной Боснии, граничащей с Сербией (Биелина, Сребреник, Прийедор, Брчко, Фоча, Братунац и др.). Большое число мирных жителей бежало в Сребреницу, где стояла 28-я бригада армии Боснии и Герцеговины. Если не могли или не успели убежать, их отправляли в тюрьмы (лагеря). Женщин задерживали и отправляли в специальные женские лагеря. Особенно страшный лагерь был около города Брчко, - рассказывали женщины (уже в Сараево в 1997 году), пережившие этот ужас. Положение беженцев в Сребренице, которая была в блокаде (только два гуманитарных конвоя сумели прорваться в Сребреницу в 1992 году: в ноябре и декабре, преодолев сопротивление сербов) было особенно тяжелым, они жили просто на улице без всякого обеспечения.Несмотря на все эти факты, 17 апреля 1993 года Совет Безопасности вынес резолюцию (их было несколько десятков, если не больше) и был подписан роковой договор между УНПРОФОРом и коммандующими армиями сербов и боснийцев о демилитаризации Сребреницы. 21 апреля были посланы в Сребреницу 170 военных, гражданской полиции и вооруженных наблюдателей для разоружения города. За четыре часа 28-я бригада Армии Боснии и Герцеговины и все жители отдали оружие, боеприпасы, мины, взрывчатку и все остальное, что могло служить для военных целей. Взамен поучили обязательство ввести контингент вооруженных сил ООН для соблюдения безопасности жителей Сребреницы как демилитаризованной зоны, так называемой зоны безопасности - Safe Hаven ( горькая насмешка!). Это произошло через пять дней после того, как 12 апреля сербы бомбили город; 56 человек было убито, среди них 15 детей, которые играли в футбол на школьном стадионе. 73 человека ранили... Кровь и человеческие останки были разбросаны повсюду.

Such a heartbreaking war. If we put religion aside we are good people here on the Balkans, we proved we could live together. Evil forces with their hardocore religious and nationalist beliefs did this. I know we cant forget this but i hope we can heal and restore love among the Balkan countries again

I saw the massacre of Bosnian muslims on TV in my country Pakistan 🇵🇰 in 1995 filmed by European Muslim Aid organization the incidence is still imprinted on my mind because this is natural thing that all Muslims wether they belong to Europ Asia Africa America are brother of each other

Why did the media cover up the events that were key to understanding this drama? In 1993, the Serbs were expelled in an ethnic cleansing operation carried out by the Muslim nationalist army. French General Morillon, who commanded the UN forces in that region, said: "On Orthodox Christmas Eve in January 1993, the Muslim Naser Orić stormed Serbian villages... Heads were cut off, eyes were gouged out and terrible massacres were committed in Serbian villages." The desire for revenge does not justify the crimes committed later. But why are the crimes of Muslims systematically covered up? No one was held accountable for crimes against Serbs in the municipalities of Bratunac, Skelani, Milići, Kelesija, Srebrenica and Zvornik.
