To me the most horrific part has nothing to do with a rat. It’s the fact that a Walmart in Mexico doesn’t have cilantro.

Rats pee on everything. They can't walk a few feet without squatting and peeing, and they do it while moving forward. Rats are smart to. You can throw those other sticky traps away because the rat will probably avoid them unless you have a stupid rat. Clean everything after you kill the rat.

Bro you need to find a place where you can take everything out of the truck and clean it all up. Then set traps and not be in the truck for a few days.

Mav, those glue traps are not good enough for a rat . Trust me. I kill rats for a living. If you try to use them again place several of them in a row. You might get lucky. No promises. You see what he did to his tail. Get anything that is food (not just to you but to a rat, could be medicine that smells yummy , those Wasabi peas etc) put it all in the cooler/fridge. The rest in sealed containers. If you don't want to do a bunch of containers do yourself a favor and walk into that Walmart and find the container that seals the best that will fit your items. Glass or metal(rat can't chew) is best but plastic(rat can chew thru) is good temporary. Please clean your truck thoroughly after you get rid of him. Wear a mask while vacuuming all the droppings up. Wipe everything down with some clorox wipes. A black light will show your where he has urinated. I hope this helps. Good luck and happy hunting! Ps I suggest the posion 😆

Have you considered lining your kitchen wood with vinyl shelving liner? It will protect the wood and if you lay the lining right so that it covers the joint pieces you won't have anything get into the creases and you can use a small vacuum to get out any debris and you can actually wash it down.
