Mercedes-Benz Mannheim plant where production truck engines. Filmed in 2011.
Mercedes-Benz offers the Actros with inline six-cylinder common rail engines with 7.7 (OM 936 LA), 10.7 (OM 470 LA), 12.8 (OM 471 LA) and 15.6 liters of displacement (OM 473 LA) in 16 of wattages. All variants of the new engine families are on a 20% higher mileage - now 750,000 (OM 936) or 1.2 million kilometers (OM 470/471) - designed as the previous series.

Move to USA ? it says USA on the crankshaft main cup at 0:41so it is made in USA and export to Germany ? I guess ,everywhere is well made , Good product .

This is really sad about mercedes tradition i was fun of mercedes om engines and now they import engines from detroit diesel. Om 471 is detroit diesel dd13 engine, design in 2010 for american emission standards with bluetec technology. And now after 7 years they represent us as a new engine for new emission standards.

MB might be a leader in design concepts. . but they learned nothing after ww2.. to many hands and to many steps and to many parts to produce a single engine.. watched volvo/mack assemble and test an engine in under 15 min. at a plant in Maryland. . the block assembly alone was only 4 minutes long

VOLVO FH16 especially d12engine from 1997.mounted in b12bus models .He can make over 8million km with regular maintenance ,such engine quality ,one of the best in the world.

Os motores mercedes benz para caminhões no Brasil é muito deficiente, falhas no projeto e outras coisas mais que nao comento pq se quiserem saber terão que me pagar pra isso. Comecou la nos projetos do OM 324, 352, 352A, o 366 consegue ser pior ainda. Muito bonita a linha de montagem mas aguenta o tranco aqui é Volvo põe a Mercedes Benz no chinelo em todos os quesitos.

Die Motoren klingen scheiße, haben keine Leistung, die Autos sind billig verarbeitet, und das Getriebe ist eine Katastrophe. Das aussehen ist ok und das Raumangebot für den Fahrer ist es auch. Sorry aber es ist so
