This was a fun but intense work shift! I first ride along and learn how to operate a plow truck and then I drive it solo.
I continued filming after I got back after midnight, so there' is a Part 2 coming soon!
I wish I did a bit more filming on how the manouvering of the plows work, but there wasn't much time standing still. And I also thought about after hand xD
Hope you guys like it! :)

It looked like you did great. And learning something entirely new and then having to take over and do it yourself on the same day is always mentally exhausting. And on top of that, I imagine operating the plow takes even more concentration than does simply driving, so it's no wonder you were tired. Thank you for keeping the roads clear and safe.

I just saw your videos a couple days ago and I subscribed and I must say you seem to tackle whatever is tossed your way and you are a fast learner. I too drove semi’s for several years and I know first hand what a Trucker must deal with on the highways and the in-town crazy drivers and you must stay focused at all times as there are way to many drivers that are always in a rush to get to wherever it is they’re heading to. You seem to have the right frame of mind to be a Trucker which is keeping calm & collected and sometimes that’s a hard call. Thumbs Up To You And I’ll be waiting for your next video.👍👍👍👍

Good evening from Scotland! My God Cassie - is there anything you won't have a go at!? You are one awesome young lady who is definitely NOT afraid of hard work. That side plow is a great idea! The right equipment for the job! I always found that driving very long hours in snow gave me a really bad headache and it takes so much more concentration that after a week of it you need a new head! Look forward to part 2! Great video again. Keep trucking Cassie!

Plowing is very important in the Swedish winter. I had to go early to Stockholm, Arlanda from Sälen in late November last year (2020) and it was dumping snow for 3 of the 5 hours of the drive. Everyone had done an amazing job plowing the roads, even in the countryside in the middle of nowhere. I got there on time with no problems, despite the heavy snowfall. We appreciate the long hours you plow-truckers are putting in!

Cassie, a great video, loved every part of it. Loved your expression at the beginning of the video when you were right seat waiting for your instructions about how to operate the truck. I could see that was some excitement in your expression about finally learning something.. I am still wow'ed about you learning to get to operate the plow truck 👍 Cassie you said it yourself about how much more involved it is to operate the plow truck compared to a regular truck. A number of things came into play the day you shot this video. You were not really rested for your longer than normal day, first time really operating the plow truck for that long of a period and mentally not knowing when you would be done can definitely effect how you feel. You know that feeling you got can also effect the safety factor of operating the plow truck. And then getting stuck waiting for the accident to clear didn't help you either. I was glad to see your comment, even when you were so tired, you still expressed your concern that you hoped whoever was in the accident was alright 🥰 Cassie, it looks like you are fast learning that plow truck drivers know what long hours on the road are like. I think between the plow truck drivers and the tow truck operators are VERY important people especially when it's snowy weather. Well Cassie, again excellent video and I also have to say you girl have exceeded your skills now that you are a plow truck driver 💕💕 Thanks for sharing, and we your followers are looking forward to your next video, whatever it might be. Get some rest and listen for that phone because your needed again to plow those Swedish highways. 💪💪💪

Truly! It takes more focus than I first thought. Keeping the plows in the right angle, not being too close to the side fence, watching passing traffic, amount of salt being spread... Among with the sudden and potentially long work hours. I'm impressed by everyone who does this year after year during winter! :) Thank you so much for your comment!

I was hauling wheat this week to one of the grain terminals ( yes I farm ) and of course it went and snowed a fair amount and the roads turned to crap and its not fun at all being out there on roads like that where one can't tell where the edge is at and a narrow shoulder type road to boot. So glad when the plow truck came through and then back again on the other side of the more rural highway portion of the route I take as even just one vehicle coming the opposite way created a cloud of snow in the air so I couldn't see where I was going. I don't enjoy hauling grain in the winter when its conditions like this and I most certainly don't envy plow truck operators as they are constantly fighting with traffic trying to pass them and they themselves trying to figure out where the road even is under them. The roads became quite icy even though its cold as that snow packs on and its hard to explain to someone that doesn't know how a truck/trailer handles that is empty on the return trip as its a constant steering dance almost to keep that truck on the road as our falling apart paved roads have ripples in spots and it wants to throw a trucks rear end sideways as the tires bounce over it and its so very slick there isn't traction, its stressful driving, there is no relaxing at all. And that I think is partly why your brain gets fried Cassie, its the stress of dealing with a totally new type of driving job and all that responsibility and way too long behind the wheel at one time between long breaks, never mind night time and trying to see where you are going and your body is telling you its dark and time to go to sleep !.

Thank you Cassie for a wonderful video that brought back many fond memories. First off, the word Plow is pronounced like Plowe with the Owe part like when you smash your finger or something. I am originally from the Chicago area when we normally do not have a large snowfall, but occasionally we did get total Blizzards with feet of snow. I drove and supervised a crew of snow removal drivers totalling somewhere between 100 and 200 drivers. We covered an area about the size of Stockholm but more rural in nature. One major blizzard, we fought for 28 days and nights We viewed these storms much like a battle with nature and nature usually wins. It was so bad, we were evacuating women about to give birth or heart Attack victims in the buckets of Wheel loaders because it was the only way to get them out. Your equipment looks pretty good - Our were foe the most part 5-10 ton GMC trucks with Baker wing plows and tailgate spreaders on the real. Thanks for the memories lady and keep up the good work, Between you and Angelica Larsson, you make my day.

Great video Cassie 👍🏼 It’s definitely something different seeing you drive a snow plough. The big question is though, how does the snow plough driver get to work? 😜 Here in Ireland while we do have a lot of gritters out working during winter we very rarely need snow ploughs as we get so little snow - and when we do the country comes to a standstill 🤣🤣 Stay safe on the roads Cassie and I look forward to seeing more of your interesting vlogs 👍🏼

Be careful of fatigue, it's easy to make stupid mistakes. It's very similar to driving while intoxicated. My dad's friend who drives alternate shifts lost his life in a truck roll-over this year, and I've attended roll-overs as part of the rescue crew. Enjoy the vids, so cute and competent :) My family has been driving trucks in Australia & NZ, & I've driven Heavy rigids around Melbourne, Street cleaners, Side loader garbage etc.

As other have already said, information overload is not uncommon. If you take things seriously and are a perfectionist, as you are, then overload will happen. Recognising that and taking a break is the correct action. You knowledge will be absorbed and you skill will increase and the chance of making errors and having accidents decreases. Trust your judgement and stay safe. You are admired and loved on here.

Now that's a plow, and so Luxury If we had to mount the plow shield I had to get the fork lift to fit the front mount and then crawl under to connect the hoses for the hydraulic. The one I get to drive is basically a 2 axle Tractor with a sander in the Back and a 2,50m knik plunge shield , but it's a high speed shield with swing controll (max 60 km/h), my plow zone is the Industrials in the area where our company is locatet at. (container terminal and warehouses) but we don't have the real snow masses here anymore :( to plow streets or even the high way. I want that mass of snow too and have looots of snow come down. And you're right NO shoes in the Truck :D ,If only my collegues would apply that. Like I said you now one of us (girls in plow). ^^ oh and the Control panel for the sander and plow had my boss build by himself, it looks like from a mad max movie. And this week I was on the Highway in front of me was a Truck blown over because of the wind (1 hour late to the construction side) and a heavy Crane and a Rotator were there to brig it back to the wheels.

Good stuff, Cassie! Your boss is basically the Swede version of my boss here in Pennsylvania. :) He seems like a laid back dude who has no issue with explaining things to a new operator. Bosses like that are pretty rare these days. Also, welcome to the American truck driver long hours, plus exempted hours due to weather. :P Plow trucks are fun but way too cramped over here. What you were in seemed rather spacious and comfy. I'm jealous.

Great you are learning to drive. It seems a lot in the beginning, but you will get the hang of it 💯💯. Cassie you sound very tired 😴, watch you do not fall asleep at the wheel.

You plow there much slower than in Finland. I think the plowtrucks go 60km/h with the plow down. But slower speed is much safer than high speed.

First of all you are pretty as always! Thank you for the video, nice to see how it works. Imo you doing great, and your brain works perfectly normal. Or we are weirdos in the same way. If it's a routine job, I'm okay for long hours and got tired just because I have been up for many hours, so it's more of a physical tiredness combined with some level of brain tiredness. If I have to learn new stuff and use that knowledge, my brain getting exhausted way before my body. Like when I had to learn how to operate an excavator, or a crane on a timber truck, or even learning a language and speaking for 2-3 hours, I'm just vegetating the rest of the day. XDD Drive safe and wish you the best of luck!

Wow! I didn't know you had Circle K food/convenience stores over there. Here in the states they are everywhere. By the way...….. I think you are doing one heck of a job. It's not easy driving a plow truck.
