Really? What exactly is wrong with it? Because here in the maritimes the economy and growth has NEVER been better. Thats according to our CONSERVATIVE Premier, who admitted that its due to federal policies. Alberta's economy is growing as well, and with TRUDEAUS new pipeline they are about to see shitloads of new wealth. The ONLY major problems I see are with provincial govenrments. Housing, healthcare, education. All provincial. All failing despite MASSIVE injections of federal money. So essentially we can assume you mean "This used to be a WHITE nation..."

We have always been a country of great wealth and freedom. We have become Lethargic in protecting that. We will be in for a rude awakening if we allow Trudeau to continue his destructive policies. They have greater impact then we realize on the economy and on investment and on personal freedom. Far from making Canada less oppressive, he is actually doing the exact opposite.

Public debt is like getting drunk. You get the buzz right away and the hangover later. Unfortunately, I don't think enough voters understand this. Debt is just kicked down the road. It makes it harder for any future government to help us. Mulroney would have had NO deficit if he had not had to service the massive debt left by the first Trudeau.

I was born in the war torn Afghanistan, lived in a refugee camp in Germany til I was 6 and moved to Canada after. I may not be Canadian by blood or birth but I love this country. Canada saved me and raised me and I'm proud to be a Canadain.

Great comments, thank you National Post for these post. If you ever in Winnipeg love to buy you supper for your efforts as you will not be getting any of the 590 million from the Liberals. One thing you have is all of us Canadians proud that you have stood up to the government and reporting news that Canadians need and must hear. The KZfaq platform is a great way to reach the young generations, my son's both in mid 20s watch this for information, and not the 6:00 pm supper news like so many of the younger generation. Trudeau is a simpleton that has been tempted by shiny things dangled in front of him by powerful people. Powerful people with extremely dangerous ideas, and Trudeau is not complicated enough to have his own opinions. That mixed with the fact that the political class and intelligencia believed that working class is too stupid to be anything else, and we should just consider ourselves lucky that we get what they give us and be happy with the decisions made in our stead. Democracy has been eroded by pretending it matters, only to change the rules whenever it doesn't suit them. My only hope is that people realize that the lie of "human rights" has always just been a tool to get people soft and lazy and to rely on government more and more. There is only one way to move forward, and it is with a focus on responsibility, not rights, and that government can only ever be effective if it is kept small, and in its narrow band of effectiveness. I just hope it is not too late.

I hate to say this, but the incompetence of Ottawa is getting a bit ridiculous to the point it's becoming a regional security problem. The United States is facing serious future global strategic issues. We simply cannot allow Russia or China to get a foothold in the arctic. The United States will inevitably need to annex everything west of Ontario to the north passage. Our global strategic needs are far too great. The fact that Canada has been living under the United States defense umbrella for over 70 years with very little contribution needs to come to an end. Eastern Canada has been living under the US defense umbrella long enough, and they have been sucking off the teat of Alberta's oil revenue transfer payments to feed their aging socialist population. Frankly, everyone's getting a bit fed up with it. Canada has the worlds largest shoreline, and only 6,000 sailors to defend it. Canada also has the 2nd largest land mass with some of the most important natural resources in the world, yet only 75,000 soldiers to defend it. I'm sorry, but a nation that cannot defend itself is not sovereign. In reality, Canada really hasn't been truly sovereign for over 70 years. It only exists because of the United States as an over-seeing protectorate. You all may need to get used to the idea of statehood.

My grandfather fought in WW2, our family has been here for generations, yet today, I don't feel like this is my home anymore. Living on the west coast of Canada, I am what's called a majority minority. Many people I meet don't speak english, don't recognize long standing traditions and observances, and simply don't have a want to assimilate into any major culture. Canada that I grew up with is no more, and If I even broach the subject, I'm ridiculed and labeled.

We will have a chance to correct our error in October but will we take it? I read that Trudeau and his Liberals are still fairly popular in Quebec and the Atlantic Provinces. Without massive support from Ontario, even the western provinces, where Liberals are as rare as hen's teeth, cannot unseat them. One of the problems is that voters tend to take too little interest in politics. I was the same when I was younger and working for a good life for myself and my family. Now that I have the time to observe more closely, I can understand better how bad policies play out. The first Trudeau gave us the plan to equalize provincial income so now the resource wealth of the west is bled off to feed those other provinces that are not doing so well (provincial welfare!). It stifle the energy of the recipient provinces. If your primary needs are met, your secondary needs seem like luxuries!! It will end when the money runs out or the west decides that the time to leave really has arrived. The first Trudeau also gave us the dairy supply management system, for which all Canadians now pay higher dairy product prices and enriches the farmers, many of whom are in Quebec. This was highlighted by the recent trade dispute with the USA. This is a controlled economy dear to the heart of communists and extreme socialists. The wonder is that he did not extend this to other industries!! Why not oil? Voters never understand that socialism doesn't work in the long run. They never see past the handouts and expect them to last forever. Tax the rich more!! Well, just watch them move to some friendlier tax environment and watch all the tax money they USED to put into the economy leave with them!! In conclusion, Trudeau and his generous sharing of our wealth is destroying us. Soon we will have much less to give but will that stop him!!!! I doubt it!!

THANK YOU!!!!! I had a friend recently tell me that Canada has no culture and I couldn't believe what I was hearing, especially as a woman whose family has been in Canada for 243 years. I can not possibly think of myself as anything other than a Canadian and now I am being told that my identity as a Canadian doesn't even exist!??? I was one of the FOOLS who voted Trudeau into office. I am so sorry. My eyes are open now and it is thanks to KZfaq and its amazing contributors. I will not make that mistake again, and I will stand behind the people of Canada who Love their country, their cultural values and their identity. Come on National Post, we the Canadian public most desperately need a non-partisan voice in the media that Canadians can trust. My Dad who is 80 is NEVER going to get his news from the internet. I'm sure he is sitting and watching CNN or CBC right now. Please, please, please pay attention to the loud minority voices who are fighting for Canada and represent them!!!
