I love this machine and hope you review my footage and declare some love for it too... Or not!

You did it dude. A true poetic review. Really beautifully done. You captured the limitations of a “thing” but elevated it to where it should be as an icon, mechanical piece of art. Thanks for all you do.

Truely, the T120 is the ultimate Gentleman's Cruiser. Great video Jedz. I hope someone from Triumph see it. Looking forward to the 100,000 mile review.

Great, and real long term review, thanks. Many of us can't afford or justify changing a bike regularly so this review is very useful. I'm considering buying one, or a speed twin next year. Thanks for your honesty in reporting 👍

amazing review man! If thats all youre getting on those wheels I recommend Cobra Chromes or anything by Avon. I have about. 17k on my tires that I did in about about 14 months and they still have tread on them. They have been great in the below 32º temps and the above 100º temps. I will probably always run these after how good they have been. I was living in Boston for from 2018-2020 and rode the bike 365 days a year. in the snow storms and and the rain to the best of days and NEVER ONCE lost major grip even on ice.

Well, that’s a very nice and honest review you made! And although I’m not riding nearly as much as you do, I’m still happy with my T120 as well. However, the jerkyness at low speeds sometimes makes me angry. Even after installing a booster plug it still gets me at roundabouts or low speeds corners. Something my BMW R1200 never does. It may be a wizard machine, as you say, but it’s a smoother ride. Let’s go to 100k miles! Enjoy!

Ahh I tend to use euphemisms when trying to explain things, I very much enjoy the R1200GS however it felt like a very refined sewing machine when I rode my friend's 2018. Please take no offence It is a fantastic bike, it's just not my bike :) . Thanks so much for following me along on this journey, its been fun! Next year I'll get that 6 figure digit on the odo! Best,

BMW and Triumph rider, totally agree about the snachiness at low RPMs. I think this is a result of the factory lean mixture at low RPMs. Booster Plugs work great for a short period of time but the computer eventually compensates to adjust the mixture lean again. Two things you might try: The DNK tune should address the lean mixture issue but something cheap to try is to change how you add throttle. Instead of using your wrist to twist the throttle, try rolling your index and thumb like you would rolling a cigar. Keep your wrist stationary and roll finger and thumb for minor throttle changes. BTW, you have good taste in motorcycles.

@@dug_c Thanks for the tip. I'll try that. Also, I didn't know the computer would reprogram itself after installing a booster plug, but I guess it all makes sense. Maybe unplugging the booster plug, then leaving it idle untill the fan kicks in and then reconnect the booster plug may reset it again ;)

Got rid of my low speed throttle jerkiness by balancing the throttle bodies correctly. They were way out of whack from the factory. Bought the Triumph Dealer Tool and did it myself, the result was worth the price of the tool alone! There was 47kPa on one throttle body and 43kPa on the other, they balanced out at 44kPa each. I could feel the difference before I even got out of my driveway, the roundabout just down the road was like, "yeah, this is how it should be"!!

I just don't know how you managed to ride it this much without your triumph failing to shift gears down 3 times. Good on you mate. If you want to buy a second one then hit me up.

How does it compare to a tu250? In reliability and maintenance? I love my tux and put a lot extra mods and personal touches but the power will always be a bit lacking. The bonnevilles seem like the next logical step up. I’ve been following your mods on tu250riders and It would seem that your perspective would be the best to ask on this haha!
@Jedz123
@Jedz123 3 жыл бұрын
No denying that it has been not the most reliable overall however it is more competent and capable for longer trips than the TUX could ever dream of being. My wife named my T120 Fatty. That name was given to it after she said it was a Fat version of Teeny (The name she gave my old TUX). It is very much a larger motorcycle but it too is very forgiving and handles very much the same... It would make a great next step for you Xerowill!

Jedz Moto haha yeah the t120 and the thruxton 900 have been catching my eye lately. I love how easy it is to work on the Tux and being new to working on motorcycles I couldn’t ask for an easier first bike. Do you think the T120 would be as straight forward in terms of maintenance and repairs? Or would someone like me need bring it to a shop a bit more frequently than a Tux?
@Jedz123
@Jedz123 3 жыл бұрын
@@xerowill I do all my own maintenance on my T120 minus the stuff that was covered by the warranty. If you have a set of Metric tools you'll be able to do most anything on the Bonneville. Such a great motorcycle to keep on the road! Best,
