Nice! Cool overview of the TT line. I'm still looking for some reviews on the Elevate MPH 85 and 95, but I think they just came out so they may not be in many hands yet. As a somewhat slower swinger who loves steel, I'm really glad there are options in that 80-100 g R-flex range. Actually, that would be a cool comparison. Zelos 8, Nippon GH 850, and the Elevate 85 in R.

The AMT line is a great one. Ping has a similar philosophy with their AWT steel shafts and I absolutely loved it in my G400s.

I fit the AWT shaft regularly. It's a "stock" shaft for ping irons for good reason - Thomas

Great job as always guys! I’m currently using two different shafts in my two sets of clubs that I’m trying to decide on…AMT White S300 or Project X LZ 6.0…My swing speed is only in the mid 70s with a 7 iron, but every time I try a lighter club, I can’t feel the club head and I’m all over the place…trying to find the best blend of weight and trajectory…Kudos to the Bauer gear on Jackie!

Get a lighter shaft, add weight to the head via weights on the tip of the shaft or lead tape. Swing weight is what matters when you want to feel your club head.

Just got fit into some Elevate 95s also. Would definitely love to see content on that. Moving on from a 130 True Temper S300.

How is/was your shaft change from S300 to Elevate 95? I was thinking of doing same thing? I have played the S300 for many,many years and loved it. But I am getting old and admit I need a change or believe I do.

@@zig4271 full disclaimer: this was my first fitting, so I don’t really have valuable insight to it, but the biggest difference I’ve noticed is the shaft weight and launch of the ball. Going from 130g S300s to 97g(?) Elevates was very noticeable and I now don’t feel like I’m fighting on controlling the club. As far as launch, it’s much more than what I was getting out of the S300s and it shows with the ball flight and the ballspeed I get out of the clubhead.

@@thegrindtopar Thanks! Like i said I have played with my S300 for more years than I want to mention and loved it and still do. But I realize now and must admit I am old, and not just getting old as l rather say😂, and need to or should get me some new clubs with lighter shafts. I have tried hitting different clubs with lighter shafts and basically continuing to do my homework by asking questions of other like you who are basically going through the transition so thanks again for your insight.

Would’ve been nice had you included the entire True Temper portfolio of iron shafts. This would of course also include products under the Project X, Aerotech and Accra brands. In some cases, such as Accra I Series, there are so many different weights, that’s likely not feasible. If however you had added the 90/95 & 110 gr in Steelfiber & iSeries, respectively and the I Series steel in a given weight, it would’ve been a great comparison….or is that just information overload in your opinion?

I recently got fit into a Modus3 Tour 120 (stiff) shaft with my irons which actually helped smooth out my transition. Prior to that I was playing with lighter shafted irons (I wasn’t fit) that made me feel a little more tentative with my swing because of my tendency of getting too quick in my transition. With my new shaft, I can better feel the weight of the club and I feel like I can swing away and not have to think too much (if that makes sense).

Makes complete sense. You need a shaft that helps you control the clubface and tighten the dispersion. Generally heavier helps with that - Thomas

You should have tested a 5 iron and PW to see if there’s drop offs. As most fittings focus on one iron it’s best to try different irons as the 5 may be too heavy.

Good point. If a golfer has slower swing speeds there will be faster drop offs in the longer irons which is why the likes of and AMT is a great option - Thomas

Just goes to shoe that shafts are all about how the player reacts to them rather than guaranteeing a specific flight. Dynamic Gold S400 stated as the lowest flight had the highest launch angle and peak height lol

If you only get fit with one iron how do you know if you are a constant weight or AMT shaft all things being equal with your 1 club test shafts

Great question. If you struggle with height with the longer irons it's a good option to retain the height and it will also help flight down your wedges. However it's going to take more than just hitting in the fitting bay so the nice thing is if you don't like the AMT at 2nd Swing we have a 30 day play guarantee to allow you to experience the results on the course. I would be confident in the results but it's nice to have that option if you don't like them - Thomas

Isn't it hard to fit to the AMT shaft if you're only hitting 7 iron in a fitting? It seems to me that you should also try a wedge and long iron to see it you need the weight progression.

If a golfer is loosing height in the longer irons the AMT is a great recommendation. I would be fully confident based on seeing a golfer for an iron fitting to go that route. At 2nd Swing we have our 30 day play guarantee if the shafts just don't work outside - Thomas

Is the Tour Issue similar to a standard DG X100?

The tour issue just means more consistent weight of the shafts before they are cut to length. Retail or standard x100 may potentially have a higher deviation of the weight. Another thing to keep in mind is the weight of the shafts is BEFORE they are cut to length. So when you cut 2 or 3 inches off your losing weight

Just as Industrial Pallet Worx mentioned its more of a tolerance thing. Tour Issue tolerances are very accurate while standard DG could have a cut slightly off. Now were not talking about anything that can be noticeable but the tour players are very picky and they want to know that it's spot on - Thomas

@@2ndswing I thought most steel and some composite shaft sets are produced for a specific iron? When you’re installing for example a shaft in 6-iron, you order a 6-iron shaft, unless of course it’s being soft or hard stepped in which case you would order a 7 or 5 iron shaft for the 6. You wouldn’t be cutting more than 1”, correct? Am I missing something?

You kept saying 116 weight on Amt. isn’t the 7 iron weight less than that? 7 iron should be 107 grams.

What a confusing review. You start with the AMT and then when you were switching to the next club she asked how the DG felt and the guy says heavier than the AMT. Wait what! I thought you were hitting the AMT?
