The apostle Paul gives a warning to the danger facing weak-willed women. Mary Kassian looks to Scripture to explore seven characteristics of weak women. She'll show you how to say "no" to foolish behavior and "yes" to godly wisdom and strength in this message given at True Woman '14 in Indianapolis on October 10, 2014.

Wow... I think this was one of the most humbling, convicting messages that I have ever listened to! God is so good to tell us just the words we need to hear at just the right time, to warn and protect us and keep us from falling. I am so thankful He just brought this courageous sister into my path to speak the truth in such a blunt and powerful way. I am so weak, and need Jesus more than I think I'll ever fully comprehend!

Love this bold sermon for women. I pray we are not goats, we are sheep. Goats are wimps, sheep are innocent and obedient. I was a tomboy with two brothers. I know about not being weak. God has to work on my gentleness for years. Now I'm known as a humbled and gentle child of God. In Jesus name.amen

I honestly think that line just changed my life.. " *weak* women let things pile up"... I am looking around, and am seriously questioning some things in my life right now.. I am not a Christian, and have been weighing whether to consult a minister/pastor (at a Christian church because I AM burdened, and need help). Christianity is my mom's faith, my father was a Catholic, but I don't think Catholicism, no matter how beautiful and ornate, is meant for me (as it was not meant for my father)... I have struggled, as my parents chose to raise me without faith of any kind, they chose to educate me on all faiths (IE let me choose my own) leave me to make my own choices.. So far I have relied on the universe to guide me for my whole life, chanting to Buddha, and growing magick gardens, and practicing pagan rituals, and Wiccan rights, researching everything religious I could find... Now, at 26, I am really wondering where I belong, and find myself wanting that inclusion and "home" feeling that Christians have.. I really wonder if I belong, or maybe meant to dig out my own path.. Good is good, right? IDK anymore, I am looking, any experiences and (positive) advice couldn't hurt.. Thanks...

+Sakura Blossom Romans 10:13 says "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Ephesians 2:8 says "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith- and this is not from yourselves, it is a gift from God. Not by works, so that no one can boast." The reason why you don't have that sense of "home" is that you don't have God in your life. Humans were created to have a relationship with God. Without him, you will always be missing something. The reason why you don't have God is because of sin. All human beings sin because we have sinful natures that we inherit due to the fact that we were born in the midst of a human revolt against God. Ask God for the grace mentioned in the Ephesians passage above. Ask God for that gift. And turn away from the Wicca and other occult activities. I know it seems like you are just communicating with "the universe" or something when you do that, but what you are actually doing is making yourself vulnerable to malevolent spirits that want to keep you from God.

I am not commenting on the video as I did not watch much of it, but wanted to reply to you Sakara. A couple places to begin reading in the Bible might be the first 3 chapters of Genesis, then the book of John. Genesis explains how God created everything, including man (meaning mankind in this context - Adam and Eve) in His own image. God told Adam and Eve that they could eat of the fruit of any tree in the garden of Eden except for the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Eve was deceived and ate of the tree and also gave Adam the fruit and he also ate it. Thus sin came into the world. We have all sinned since. There was only one way to take away that sin and that was for Jesus, God's only Son, to die as a sacrifice/payment for our sins. (You can read about that in John, as well as Matthew, Mark, and Luke) Jesus took all of our sin upon Himself when he died on the cross and then He rose from the dead. This allows us to repent, ask for forgiveness of our sins, and accept Him as our Savior and live for Him. If we do that, He will wipe away ALL of our sin and we will have eternal life with Him in heaven. Jesus now sits at the righthand of God the Father in heaven making intercession for us. (Hebrews 7:25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.) See also Ephesians 1:20 A few verses to consider: Mark 16:16 “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. John 3:16-18 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Romans 3:23-24 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Matthew 11:28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. I will be praying for you :)

Dear Sakura Blossom, It is a good place to be at in your life, looking and searching and questioning. We all have to come to that point where we just don't know anymore, we feel lost and desperate, and we are just longing to know what the truth is and what can give us purpose. Jesus helps those who desire it, and He lifts the burdens off of those who know they are burdened and cannot stand having that weight crushing them any longer. You don't have to keep going on like that. :) Jesus said, "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." ~Matthew 11:29-30 Jesus will give you freedom from fears and questionings, He will take away all guilt and shame, He will give you joy and meaning and strength to get through the hardest and most painful times of life. He came to give life to anyone who will simply believe that He was indeed who He said He was, the Son of God who came to forgive and take away the sins of anyone who asks. (John 20:30-31) That the most amazing thing about being a Christian; all we have to do is just trust Jesus Christ, to believe that He spoke the truth, that He really did die for us, but then rose again and defeated death, so that He could give us eternal life! (1 Corinthians 15:1-10) Because death could not hold Jesus Christ in the grave, those who trust and believe Him do not have to fear death or what lies after any longer! He promises that we too will rise up to live again after death! This is the hope of a Christian, and that which sets us apart from everyone else; we still struggle with our failures and sins (I know I sure do, and I still desperately come to Him weary and burdened and in need of rest), but we are forgiven and we don't fear death because our God has overcome it! Don't be afraid to believe and trust Him. It will change your life forever and I know you will find in Him all that meaning and purpose that we all so hunger for! I don't know if this has been helpful to you. I do hope that it has, even if in just a small way. :) I love you and from the bottom of my heart hope that you will find what you are searching for in Jesus Christ. ~Janna

nikkicjnj Interesting idea, if Adam was made in the likeness of God, what would God most resemble? Also, Jesus was a Man.
@Fuunken
@Fuunken 8 жыл бұрын
nikkicjnj Where in the bible does it say that? Please point to me where it says Adam had all of Gods male and female characteristics. Also where it says eve was made in the image of God and not from Adams rib. How do you figure men need the most help? It's not like it was Adam who was deceived in the garden right? You can be sure of whatever you like, won't make it true, but it does shed some light on you a little bit for such comments and trying to attack me as a person instead of my argument.
@Fuunken
@Fuunken 8 жыл бұрын
nikkicjnj It's also a good bet that if men need more help than women that women would be allowed to teach men in the bible.
@Fuunken
@Fuunken 8 жыл бұрын
nikkicjnj What? It says it. A copy of a copy is still going to resemble the original. Yeah, no, Eve was guilty of the original sin and then Adam also sinned, after her. Your strange argument makes me think your not arguing from a biblical point of view. Women are more easily deceived than men according to the bible. Women dress as men, lay with other women, and covet the authority God gave man. Next question pls. I also have time for you to get the verses to me explaining your claims.

After a second go through, this is an awful speech. She says and does the exact opposite of what her talk is about, how she managed that I do not know. The lesson she should have learned from fighting her brother should have been not to hit other people, as they just might hit back. Shameful.
@infowolf1
@infowolf1 6 жыл бұрын
she challenged him to a duel and he accepted. not shameful. he raised an issue that was irrelevant to what they were talking about and she challenged him since he should know better than to think she was weak she was doing all the same stuff her brothers were. but he was getting garbage ideas from media and some guys at school who had garbage fathers and older brothers. she didn't just punch him they went into the next room and got furniture out of the way. BUT she was weak and should have learned from that fight, not what her older brother said, BUT LEARN TO FIGHT, LEARN TO SUPPRESS PAIN LIKE BOYS DO she just flail around and then back down to pain, she didn't pay attention to stuff on TV and she didn't follow through by getting self defense books and taking a class and studying warrior and strong boy stuff mental strength relating to pain and fighting. she's on the right path mentally, but she needs to apply it farther.

When she fought her brother she was a young person still at home babysitting. The only girl among several brothers. Yeah it is reasonable with kids being kids she would end up fighting a brother. She was a tomboy doing whatever they did. He could have complicated her instead of saying your just a weak ol girl. They were children at home when that happened. Sharing what happened to that one couple when they got out of church - at least the woman sought out help and prayer. I hope they got their lives straightened out. It does serve as an example.

There were valuable gems in the entirety of the message. Rather than focusing on the fight with her brother, try looking at what you could get from the rest of the message. The fight story was an attention getter. I didn’t get much from the story either but thought it was amusing. However, the rest of the message was very insightful. Don’t throw the rest of the message away because you didn’t like how she wove it into the message.
