Wonderful story and beautifully narrated as per normal The flashback caught me by surprise but I soon worked out what was happening. It was nice to get the full backstory for once whereas we usually have to guess or are given a scant paragraph or two. I hope Emily was given a sibling or two. Thank you for finding the best stories for us to enjoy

If Norman is only 33 years old, why did the narrator tell us this was his first hospital stay in almost 35 years? Seems rather silly, even if technically correct.
