A quick Beginner's Guide that tells you all you need to know and doesn't waste your time! Scarecrow has Great Range, Tricky Mix-ups, and Damaging Combos! This tutorial will cover every special move, their meter burns, the most useful attack strings, Super, and some basic Bread & Butter combos (mid-screen and corner)!

DIRECTIONS
f = forward
b = back
d = down
u = up
qcf / qcb = quarter circle forward/back
hcf / hcb = half circle forward/back
MB = Meter Burn (Enhanced)
NJ = Neutral Jump

4:51 scarecrow's super does have some uses outside of raw damage. The super acts as his ONLY wake up attack,, and is stupidly plus on block, leaving you with a free mixup. Most of the time though, his super isn't worth it

If you guys have any advice I would appreciate it because so far he is the worst fighter in the game for me. Ive played everyone else. Its really frustrating because Hes one of my favorite chars but his move set is weird. He gets his ass kicked by just a bout every char in the game weather I am playing him or playing against him. Its a joke..

@Snarfindorf "Just play footsies" isn't exactly helpful. @ Jesse Scarecrow is a pretty bad character tbh. I got more consistent results with 1 day of Robin than with about a week of Scarecrow. Advice I can offer would be to make sure trait is up as much as possible. If you get them knocked down, trait up. With trait up, if you're confident you can bait out whiffed attacks you can try to stay in neutral, but getting in their face and taking advantage of his 6 frame down 1 is advisable. Up close, the constant damage of the trait really adds up when combined with d1 into mb db2 into more normals into either mb db2 (if you have the meter) or command grab. That's about all I can offer that isn't totally character-specific.

*A thing you didn't mention about the Toxin Breath is that it actually drains the opponents meter, like Deadshot's poision bullets.

A couple problems with the vid. 1) Scarecrow does NOT have great mix-ups. aside from his f3 (something every character has) he only has low starters. No overheads. He's one of the easiest characters to block in the game. He can put himself in some situations where either a grab or low is incoming, but those are easy to avoid by simply jumping back if you know when it's coming (usually after mb bf1) 2) I wouldn't ever recommend using his command grab right after mb db2. It's still your turn at that point so you should keep up the pressure with normals and tick into the command grab. I think the most important thing for beginners to keep in mind is that people are going to block you. It is very easy to defend against this character. Because of this, it's useful to be very thrifty with your meter. Try not to frivolously waste too much on clashes unless it's absolutely necessary. Prioritize keeping trait up, as that really lets the damage stack as you stay on them. Abuse mb db2 and continue pressure afterwards. d1 into command grab is a great way to make opponents hesitant to block. Anything more in depth than that would be mu specific or advanced imo. Overall though, nice vid (especially in regards to his practically useless super).

Coolio! Something I feel like adding is that his b+3 and f+3 are his best tools at mid range (especially if Meter Burned for armor). They are like giant walls that lead to good combo damage.

for female I'd say Supergirl is pretty good for a starting character. but Batman and superman are probably the easiest to learn overall.

qcf = quarter circle forward or down then forward on the analog stick qcb = quarter circle back or down then back on the analog stick hcf= half circle forwards hcb= half circle back

Sadly, no. I recommend ending your combos with b, f+1 if the grab is too difficult.

Use the D-pad. You'll find yourself dropping combos or fucking up moves with the analog stick. The D-pad has definite up down and left right buttons so you won't mess up directions

Shahab Sjd low attacks. They're generally quick (down 1,3) are quick depending on the character and are usually safe on block so you can keep the pressure with them and if the opponent presses a button they'll get hit and you go from there.

With the combo at 5:43 whenever I try to get into the meter burn b3 I end up fully doing the f+1+3+3 combo. Is there anyway not to do that? If you press the grab button after your enemy attempts to grab you, both players will be pushed back to a neutral state, stopping the enemies grab attempt.

TheJackFroster if you press the throw button at the same time as your opponent is performing his throw, your will push the opponent away, essentially countering the throw. This is known as "teching" a throw.
