I was in the military and I’ve been around presidents… Secret Service… And this whole thing doesn’t pass the smell test. I’m out of the military now and I work in a large city where I’m often on roofs. I’ve been kicked off a roof three times this year by police and Secret Service because I had line of site over roads that ship bag dignitaries from other countries were possibly getting escorted in motorcades later on that day. You’re telling me they didn’t secure a rooftop that anyone could hit the president of United States with a slingshot from. I call bullshit.

I worked for a Federal Government Agency for 28 years as an LEO (i had three years more i could've worked). I retired early exactly for the reason Tim Kennedy, outlined, affirmative action hires and promotions. The most qualified persons are being passed over for these types of hires. By the time I left, there wasn't anybody with more than 10 years in service in supervisory positions. As I left, my Chief was being forced out by a woman (deputy chief) who filed an EEO against him... and then she got his job. I myself had substantially more frivolous internal investigations over the last 5 years than I had over the previous 23 years. I felt if I were to get into a use of force situation, my family and I would be done.

A 20 year old that lived an hour away just happened to be able to be in this perfect position all by himself??? That took planning and assistance.

The Secret Service literally looks like a spoof….unreal… I’m a female and it’s irrational to prioritize some weird data point instead of security

The level of secret service protection for ex-presidents and presidential candidates is no where near the level provided for sitting U.S. presidents. In this case, it appears that someone inside the secret service gave Trump a bunch of agents who are at the bottom of the barrel in terms of skill, expertise, and competence.

As a woman I agree with a lot of the comments saying those women should not have been guarding the President. He is 6'3 and there are 5'4 women that are supposed to be able to cover his body? If the women were the same height as him and in shape and are QUALIFIED to guard him then yes, but those women need to go ASAP.

When my 13yr old son seen the video we all seen it for the first time togather and my son said very passionately "thats my President". I almost lost my composure in a flood of emotions. This is a major historic event god bless everyone here and all the family's effected by this cowardly act.

Same officer, hiding behind multiple agents with the primary on stage, back to the previous location of the threat. I think you’ve found the problem. The head of the Secret Service wants “everyone to have a chance”.

What doesn't make sense is the Secret Service supposedly made a mistake, but we are suppose to believe that a lone 20 yr old kid planned an assassination and just happened to get lucky, catching the Secret Service's mistake that day, on the fly, all on his own? He wouldn't have known that area would not have been protected when planning this. I know nothing about guns, but that doesn't seem possible.

Where did the ladder come from? The guy's car was in the parking lot... a car. How did he get a ladder in it, drive onto the property without question, carry it across the parking lot (while holding an AR no less) and not get noticed by the SS?

I told my son when the guest speakers started "See that water tower, see those roof lines? Guaranteed, they have guns and eyes on those". Boy, was I wrong. Another thing that stood out was the Ambulance in the motorcade which made me think heat preclusions for the staff, but it stood out. Also they removed the campaign banners before the rally which isn't odd but stood out as an addition to attention on stage. Especially if the stage has already been electronically mapped by "Hawkeye's" (avionics) eyes in the sky over "Ears" (team lead) and the team. Can't have extra garb on the stage perimeter. Also, the two skull capped guys with the SR-16's hopped out of the motorcade at the stage upon arrival. That all stood out. It's not that hard to secure the perimeter that's usually the job of the lesser tier specialists. FBI saying it was "outside of the SS envelope" is pure laziness and a head fake for the political class to set a narrative first. Incompetence. Man, I thought you guys were all linked up with Trump through Don Jr already. Y'all should offer executive third-party security oversight for the Trump family. Tactical Project Management. Y'all, know the family loves you guys. Make that call. I'd call Don Jr he's a distance shooter he knows your crowd. My son kept telling me about this show. Glad to subscribe. I cant find my comment talking about how this was an inside job. The Secret Service was observing the suspect for 7 minutes and 27 seconds straight. For 42 seconds they were aiming at him down scope. After the shooting started they attempted to move and reacted in fear. They never took the shot prior to the suspect opening fire. Also there's is footage of people showing and telling the Secret Service and police were the suspect was the entire time prior to the first round. This seems to be an inside job and since the agency acted prior to the president being shot.

Given the hightened security concerns, the extremely small size of the venue, the number of witnesses, the technology available, and so many other factors, it is really, really hard to believe that this was a security failure. If security was really that bad, everyone in Washington would be dead. This was no accident.
