Dunno what it's worth in dollars, but Singapore earned many tons of gratefulness and respect from countless citizens in the U.S. (like me, for instance.)

Singaporean here. The weather sucks. But the cost living is ridiculous. 1st world country with 2nd world salary. But you’ll be safe travel alone

i mean the 20 million spent on this summit is worth it as it is potentially saving countless lives. plus if u think about it, 20 mil is a small price to pay for global security . ( or atleast security in asia and america)

So, what did Singapore gain in return? Publicity. The google news English version was full of references to Singapore. Two or three days leading up to the summit, TV stations all around the world covered back to back, the city state Singapore. Singapore was one of the most searched word on internet too.

well as a Singaporean, the images they showed were tourist attractions. It isn't really a fair comparison. We don't have that beautiful architecture all around Singapore but I do think it looks kinda nice

Objectively speaking, if Obama could bomb a heck ton of countries and still get it, Trump deserves it more for bringing new relations and less war rattling in the Korean peninsula which has not deescalated in about 20 years. Trump is no saint but the talks were definitely an unprecedented moment in history
