Is it just me, or does Ari seem determined to focus outsized attention on Cohen's testimony about one phone call, without giving nearly as much weight to the documentation, testimony of other witnesses, and the bulk of Cohen's testimony? At least it was a little better in this clip than it was in his reporting last week.

It boils down to a violation of campaign finance law. Payments were made to Cohen with the intention of influencing an election so they must be transparent. Instead they were disguised as retainer fees to prevent the public from learning about Trump's affairs. The evidence is the checks signed by Trump as well as the accounting records outlining the reimbursement.

NY PL 175.10 is the criminal charge... otherwise this use of constitutional statutes is improper since the constitution establishes rights and when statutes are formed they shouldn't violate the constitution. Acts are examples of federal statutes. Constitutional laws would be freedom of speech, etc. Have you read the constitution?

Costello even corroborated Michael Cohen's testimony, his version of events didn't make sense except as fishing for what Cohen could yield to the prosecution of the federal electoral violations. But Costello already destroyed his credibility in front of the grand jury, called by Trump he helped the prosecution case and rubbed out defense strategy.
