This presentation explores the archetypal dynamics in Donald Trump's astrological birth chart, and his relationship with the planetary archetype associated with Saturn, --- through the lens of the Saturn quadrature cycle correlative to important events that led to his bankruptcies, presidency, and defeat.
We also explore his early childhood wounds as described by Mary Trump with a particular focus on psychological splitting, denial, and othering as they relate to the Saturn-Pluto archetypal complex in his natal chart.
We then look at the evolution of consciousness through the lens of Richard Tarnas' mandala of worldviews as potentially analogous to the individuation of a single human lifetime.
Finally, we take a brief look at the history of the Uranus-Pluto and Saturn-Pluto cycles which led to the current alignment and a look at Trump's election transits and the Saturn square Uranus world transit, which will be in aspect for the next two years.

Finished...thanks so much for this Chad, so much ground covered and yes so much hope. My reflection from Australia is that worldview you arrive at via a assortment of cutting edge Western thinkers and the worldview we need to embrace and embody, enact is in a different form where the indigenous peoples of Australia never left. I see real hope emerging in Australia as science begins to embrace indigenous forms of knowing. My sense is that black Lives matter is feeding this process in a sort of subteranean way. We are having to face our own really deep shadow around our treatment of our indigenous peoples right now. Confronting, shocking and the begining of healing I hope...Am beginning to write about this and the role I see Archetypal cosmology playing ...

OMG Chad, slowly digesting this...I just reached the Karan Brad Diffraction Methodology. You are onto it! I imagine Archetypal Cosmology as part of the the shared method, the container for diverse astrological, psychological etc views to cocreate, diffract within. Ac holds the whole astrological tradition and goes to its essentials. It bridges the past and the future. The simplicity and clarity is its gift. I see it as having the potential to provide the astrological communitty a shared space to meet within and to diffract within. Each exploring a similar specific event or moment in the future. Cultural Soul making... Ive only just begun to perhaps dream up Dec 20 in my local communitty. I nominate Dec 20 2020 for a shared moment that we could begin with? Thoughts anyone who has ears to hear...

Thank you. Very well presented, such detail of connections throughout history considering various perspectives. I really like how the astrology "explains" current events, and that it isn't clear how things will turn out, except that... dare I say, the good prevails. Life on this planet is from the stars, and it's no accident our consciousness expands from studying the celestial transits and aspects.

Excellent narrative illustrating practical application of astrology and archetype paired with current psychology. Agree free will can change prediction of future. One question - is narcissism nature, nurture or both. Example - Fred jr was able to avoid becoming a narcissist; yet Donald became a supreme grandiose narcissist. Although I am not an expert, I suggest intention of Service to others vs. service to self may indeed be the root soul purpose, a gene or energetic spin of the narcissist. A basic narcissist indicator should be available in the average astrology chart. Thoughts how to identify in the chart?

Agential realism is a philosophical perspective that seeks to bridge the gap between objectivity and subjectivity in understanding reality. It was introduced by the philosopher Karen Barad, who is known for her work in feminist science studies and philosophy of science. Agential realism is particularly influential in the fields of science and technology studies, as well as feminist theory. At its core, agential realism posits that the world is an entanglement of the material and the discursive, where the material refers to physical entities and phenomena, and the discursive pertains to the ways in which language and meaning are constructed. In this view, agency is not limited to human beings but extends to all entities, both human and non-human, and even to abstract concepts. Key concepts in agential realism include: Intra-action: Barad uses the term "intra-action" instead of "interaction" to emphasize that entities do not exist independently and interact with one another, but they are entangled and co-constitute each other in their very being. This challenges traditional notions of causality and highlights the dynamic nature of reality. Diffraction: Barad draws upon the concept of diffraction from physics to explain how the interaction of waves can produce new patterns. In the context of agential realism, diffraction signifies how encounters between different agencies can lead to the emergence of new entities and phenomena. Phenomena as agential: According to agential realism, phenomena are not simply pre-existing aspects of reality waiting to be observed. Instead, they come into being through agential intra-actions and are inseparable from the apparatus and conditions of observation. Ontology and Epistemology: Agential realism challenges the traditional separation between ontology (the study of being and existence) and epistemology (the study of knowledge and how it is acquired). It suggests that our understanding of reality is always entangled with our ways of knowing it, and the two cannot be disentangled. Agential realism has had a significant impact on various academic disciplines, encouraging scholars to rethink the relationship between the observer and the observed, and to consider how knowledge production is intertwined with the entities being studied. It also opens up new perspectives on social issues, science, and ethics by acknowledging the role of non-human entities in shaping the world and human experiences.

In agential realism, the concept of "phenomena as agential" challenges traditional notions of passive, pre-existing objects waiting to be observed. Instead, phenomena are understood to emerge through agential intra-actions, where the entangled relations between various entities contribute to their constitution and expression. Here are some key points to elaborate on the idea of phenomena as agential: Co-constitution: Agential realism rejects the idea of a clear ontological divide between subject and object. Instead, it posits that the observer and the observed are mutually implicated in the process of knowing and being. When an observer interacts with a phenomenon, both the observer and the phenomenon are active participants in the event. The phenomenon does not exist independently of the observation but is constituted through the intra-action between the observer and the observed. Intra-activity and entanglement: Agential realism emphasizes that entities, including human observers and non-human objects, are not separate from each other but are entangled in their existence. This entanglement is called "intra-activity." Observers and phenomena are entangled in their agential capacities, which means that the observer's actions and the phenomenon's responses are inseparable from each other. Relationality: Phenomena are not fixed and isolated entities but are constituted through their relationships with other entities. These relationships are not merely external influences but integral to the constitution of the phenomenon itself. In other words, what a phenomenon is and how it appears are dependent on its interactions with other entities. Context dependence: Agential realists argue that phenomena are context-dependent and relational. The conditions and apparatus of observation play a crucial role in the emergence of a particular phenomenon. The same entity may manifest differently under different conditions or when observed using different instruments. Performativity: Agential realists draw on the idea of performativity from speech act theory to describe how language and discourse can bring phenomena into being. Language does not merely represent pre-existing realities; it actively participates in their constitution. The descriptions and theories used by observers become part of the phenomena they describe. Overall, phenomena as agential in agential realism highlights the active and performative nature of observation and the inseparability of observers and the observed. It challenges the idea of a fixed, objective reality and emphasizes the role of entangled relations in shaping the world we experience and understand. This perspective has profound implications for various fields, including science, philosophy, and social theory, by encouraging a more nuanced and contextually sensitive approach to understanding the complexity of reality.

Your analysis of Trump's psychopathology and recent related events is excellent and I'm grateful for you sharing it with accurate referencing of specific chart features. However, I am not amenable to the evolutionary psychology concepts you layered upon Richard Tarnas' worldview differentiations. I have a long-standing issue with evolutionary psychology because it seems to be very Eurocentric, putting modern secularism at the end of a linear trajectory of less-advanced to more-advanced. I believe this displays the immense hubris of the West and also our blindness to the depth, complexity, and wisdom of the Primal worldview, wisdom that we in the West have forgot or have been robbed of due to religious imperialism and/or patriarchy. What you are saying here, essentially, is that indigenous "primal" worldviews are inferior to the more advanced modern/secular European worldview, which I take issue with. In my opinion, the modern secular worldview is the inferior one because it's the only one out of those that Tarnas describes that have led to mass extinctions, industrialism, soul-crushing despair and spiritual poverty, and possibly the end of the human species (and thousands of other species along with it). I don't see anything "evolved" about that! My interpretation of Tarnas' work is that actually we're moving from the post-modern and returning to a kind of new animist era, a turning back to the beginning and reclaiming of what we left behind in the Primal era with the move into the Archaic/Axial. I believe it's the only way the West can reclaim its collective soul and prevent total ecological collapse. The Axial era and its religious revolution is the one that led us down this terrible path. It's time to go back to the very beginning, back to the Primal unification with the universal Psyche, but in a slightly different way than before. This is the goal of Alchemy, from unification, through individuation and sullying, and at last back to unification through the silvering of the soul. James Hillman has an interesting lecture on this subject.

Fascinating stuff! I'm neither pro Trump nor anti Trump nor pro or anti Biden. I think both were horrible choices, and I also like how Trump pissed off the status quo though he gave populism a bad name (I'm a Bernie guy). I also hope for no more lockdowns as well. That said, this puts together a lot of context into what we're going through right now, and aligns with what many astrologers have talked about with 2020, as well as how the Covid crisis is relating to everything (including the very bizarre graphs showing some of the Jupiter Saturn Pluto conjunctions going along with the waves of Covid cases, thankfully ending early next year!)

Excellent presentation, Chad! You've put together so much information and so many fascinating ideas! Thank you so much for all your work! For those who may not know it, Chad does individual astrological readings. He just did mine and his views and comments were very helpful. We had no prior connection and have no mutual friends, so this isn't just publicity. Go here for more info: archetypalview.com/index.html A couple comment/questions: The quickest: Would you consider Jung's work with active imagination 3rd order thinking? Looks like it to me. The longest: The comparison of Trump's chart with John Lewis' is so important to show that yes, we are dealt certain cards (or chose/shaped them in earlier lives), but it's the people around us in our early years and the later choices we make as adults that mostly determine how our lives and souls unfold. I was startled to see I share a Jupiter-Uranus conjunction with a trine to the Sun with Trump, as well as Mercury in aspect to Neptune. Pretty humbling to see that we both share our strutting from the same ballsy bag. I'm grateful to my parents for holding and mirroring me well, despite all their quirks and weaknesses. And I'm sorry for Trump that he was so deprived and tortured, and as a consequence has become a giant-size menace in the world. You show so well that it's the heart and hearth that make the difference between John Lewis and Donald Trump, not the chart. Here the question arises as to whether some people are so damaged that they effectively have lost the capacity to self-reflect, whether it's still possible for them to feel their own wounds and the damage they're doing to others as a defense against their own hurts and voids, and step back from the compulsion to attack and destroy. Frankly, Trump looks hopeless. Sometimes the only way to heal is through dying. As you say, Chad, Trump IS serving humanity by bringing what's sick in us as humans to such an acute, engorged state that we can't deny it anymore. The standard thought that follows that is to pray that having seen it, we can finally let go of that, expell it, be free of it, but ... we DID see it most horribly in the World Wars and countless other moments ... and it's still raging through us. It seems rather futile and not too convincing to pray, "Please, let us learn THIS TIME, though we haven't after so many devastating events ..." But, maybe this time IS different, given the amazing conjunctions in the sky now, maybe we are entering a new axial era of evolving into the life-serving co-creators we are meant to be. Thank you, Rick Tarnas, and thank you, Chad, for giving us solid, planetary ground to hold to our faith, our deep heart feeling, that we can come through this disastrous time as new individuals and as a new humanity.

Hi Janet, Thanks so much for the kind comments and referral! I am glad you found the information helpful. Apologies for the delayed reply. The evolutionary importance of the events here in the States colonized my attention for the past couple of weeks. You raise very important questions. I am not a psychotherapist, but from my understanding some “psychopaths” are considered incapable of empathy. I do not know if there are any medical interventions which can alleviate that particular relational inability. I am not saying Trump is a psychopath. From my lay interpretation he is a sociopath. He may be a psychopath, but I can't quite get to that diagnosis. I believe there are professional psychotherapist who do think he is a psychopath, but I believe the broader consensus is narcissistic anti-social personality disorder, or narcissistic sociopathy. I just started listing to Brian Muraresku’s “The Immortality Key: The Secret History of the Religion with Know Name”, where he describes the age old dictum from many mystery religion, “To die before you die.” “To die before you die. Or rather, to psychologically maim the ego-even for a brief instant-in order to be initiated into an understanding of what lies beneath all the thoughts, feelings, and memories that have gone into the lifetime construction of our false, or at the very least incomplete, sense of self. The little ego (Latin for “I”) that seems so firmly in control is just an elaborate illusion.” --Muraresku, Brian C.. The Immortality Key (p. 7). St. Martin's Publishing Group. Kindle Edition.- I imagine some type of radically transformative death-rebirth experience, as occurred for thousands of years in rite-of-passage rituals held in the ancient mystery religions, or a genuinely powerful near-death experience (which catching Covid clearly was not), ---could possibly break loose the stranglehold of Trump’s shadow on his ego and superego. The hole in his psyche which craves the love never received from his parents (reflected in his compensatory narcissism), ---in my opinion can never be satisfied by personal love or adoration. The wound is on a transpersonal dimension and likewise may only be healed through an encounter with a transcendent source of love, ---which can break through the shadow possession state and allow the wholeness of his Self to recognize the self-centered pathological nature of the relationship of his ego to the world. I believe every human being is capable of redemption. I can’t quite close the door on the possibility for him in this lifetime either. I believe it is highly unlikely. But you actually never know. I don’t believe the future is predetermined. There is an indeterminate core where human free will and the creativity of the cosmos participate in co-creating our future. As for human participation with the planetary archetypes. No archetypal complex or planetary configuration manifests as necessarily positive or negative. They all have life enhancing and less life enhancing or destructive potentials. There is a mysterious relationship between fate and free-will. I do not believe there are any particular fated dimensions to any archetypal complex or planetary configuration. My hunch is the more conscious awareness we can apply to our relationship with the archetypes, or to life experience generally, the more free-will becomes available to our agency. As for active imagination being an example of third-order thinking. It would depend on the level of awareness brought to the experience. Robert Bellah points to Yehuda Elkana as the origin of the term “second-order thinking”, and Shmuel Eisenstadt as using it frequently as a synonym for his term “reflexivity”. It is, in essence thinking about thinking. The conceptual capacity is recognized to have emerged in the axial era and corresponds to formal logic. Thesis-antithesis-synthesis. It is the beginning of the widespread phenomenon of questioning the myths, which governed our cosmologies prior to the emergence of the axial era religions. I am not particularly familiar with the practice of active imagination. I am guessing much of it would consist of a kind of first-order thinking, where the participant is immersed in a sort of spontaneous participatory imaginative process, attempting to withhold the disengaged reflexive awareness or ---second-order thinking--- from the content emerging from the unconscious. Then return to analyze the content with reflexive awareness after the content is recorded in some fashion. Perhaps I am misunderstanding the practice. In my lay understanding of Jung’s Red Book descent phase, out of which I believe active imagination emerged, Jung was at least in part, able to maintain a level of differentiated awareness in relationship to the material emerging from the unconscious, which led him to identify and recognize the autonomous nature of the archetypes. I believe this type of experience would qualify as third-order thinking. But in Jung’s descent, the material was emerging from the unconscious in a spontaneously uncontrollable manner. I am guessing certain practices can produce spontaneous emergence of material form the unconscious, but one’s subjective discernment would have to be refined enough to differentiate genuine unconscious material vs. phenomena which may be consciously generated. As of now my perspective on third-order thinking, in part, is as follows: Any process in which second-order thinking is applied to transpersonal or transcendent material/data/phenomena, resulting in a new level of awareness provided by some level of synthesis between the individuated awareness and the transpersonal phenomena transcending both and uniting them in a new level of perspective or conscious awareness. On e of the particular gifts of astrological third-order thinking is that it is grounded in time and space, (the empirically verifiable position of the planets), and provides a calendric or temporal system, oriented on every individual person, providing the opportunity to develop a personal relationship with the archetypes. Engaging our critical self-reflective capacities with the archetypes informing our thoughts provides a new level of self-awareness and potential co-creative agency. The relationship is recursive. The more we develop the communication the more liberating and life enhancing the relationship will become. Does that help? Do you have any further thoughts? Thanks for your comment and questions, Janet! Warmly, Chad

Hi D JRG, I take in as many news sources as possible. I read WSJ, The Hill, take in as much Fox as I can, NPR, Democracy Now. But I don't need any news source in particular. I grew up in the 80's and watched him attack the Central Park Five and the abusive way he treated Ivana during their divorce. Insight into his psychology is far beyond any news source. I took a lot of the dates from Wikipedia. Does that count as MSM? The racist birther lie is the same on all media sources. I read Mary Trump's account which matched many of my intuitions and provided a lot of insight into the early childhood dynamics. I have friends who after watching his abusive actions during the 1st debate had PTSD surrounding previous abusive relationships they had suffered. Did it matter what news channel they watched it on? He continues to blame China for our inability to control the virus. Is China to blame for Australia, South Korea, New Zealand, and Canada's success as well? Denial is easy to see if we're paying attention. I compare the astrological data with the events and psychological phenomena I see. I do my best to check my bias before making any declarative statement. The principle behind a diffractive methodology supports the idea of many people making assessments then comparing and contrasting the analyses to arrive at a more refined understanding of the phenomena than can be gleaned by one person. So, I invite everyone else for their analysis so we have more perspectives from which to gain insight. But I also stated at the beginning of my analysis of Trump that I was removing some of the non-biased approach because I felt a responsibility to call out Trump's gaslighting. I feel comfortable in saying the failed response to the pandemic is clear evidence the danger I and so many others feared he posed, was unfortunately tragically correct. Thanks for your question, D JRG! Chad

As far as I can tell the way you address the pandemic does not include the actual high levels of uncertainties regarding many key aspects of the virus. At least there is still a high level of controversy in the scientific community (look particular for researchers sticking to methods of evidence based medicine, e.g. the Oxford CEBM), even though we are already months into the pandemic. This seems to be IMO quite a lead on the possibility, that the pandemic carries also a whole lot of projection and shadow load with it, which is unfolding as memetic part of the whole process. I think excluding this uncertainty weakens your overall analysis.
@ArchetypalView
@ArchetypalView 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Dran Fren, I agree there is a lot of projection on the pandemic. The combination of the Saturn-Pluto pandemic pressures and the forthcoming election, ---reflect Stan Grof's 2nd and 3rd perinatal matrices and the struggle to break free of the constricting birth canal and breathe freely. A lot of repressed anxieties rooted in the birth trauma are being triggered and projected onto the threatening existential reality. The rapid rise of the Qanon conspiracy along with the pressures of the pandemic are one example. Apocalyptic visions often accompany the final stages of the birth process. I checked out the Oxford website, but I nothing leaped out to me reflecting the concerns you raise. Are there any particular data you can point towards? I totally agree there is a great deal of uncertainty. Is there anything particular I said you can point to which seemed to indicate I am too certain about it? I personally only know about 7 people who have contracted the virus, and one of them is a long-hauler. Definitely a lot of uncertainty. Thanks for your comment! Chad

@@ArchetypalView among other things last time I checked what is still (to at least some highly significant extent) unclear is the infection fatality risk, the transmission dynamics and related to this the question which measures do (or don't) work how well (and how much unwanted side effects they produce). Unfortunately I can't point you to a good english summary of all the critical points - at the moment I am working more with awareness practices (which I think is in the long run more important than the question which opinion one has regarding the pandemic - I mean how aware is one of underlying projection in the way one's -including my own of course - opinion is formed...). The best summary I know at the moment is from the German Network for evidence based medicine - it's being discussed controversially, but there are at least some solid points www.ebm-netzwerk.de/de/veroeffentlichungen/covid-19 - it's unfortunately in German, but there are some english links also. If I run into an good English summary I will let you know...

Hi Ishijah1, Yes, it is certainly remarkable he can continue to overcome legitimate opposition and self inflicted wounds, it's part of the Jupiter trine Sun support and the power of positive thinking combined with a herculean level of denial (SA-PL-MA midpoint), and Pluto semisquare the Sun reflects the ambition/obsessive/relentless nature. But he can't lie his way around the coronavirus. We are not rounding the corner. Cases are rising in swing states. His Republican minions and Fox News cannot spin their way out of a pandemic. There are a lot of un-admirable accomplished people in history though. Right? Thanks for your comment, Chad

@@ArchetypalView Chad Your so patient! Your responses are straight foward and speak for themself. I hope this piece gets widely viewed. Ishijah It sounds like your imagining a Trump victory? Hmmm Im not! and Im not the only one and the astrology as I read it lines up with Chads reading. I guess this is gonna be a diffraction moment. We will all learn a lot!

Trump has a strong horoscope and so did lot of demagogues in history. While some of his policies may be considered good (debatable), he is a highly corrupt, divisive person with dictatorial tendency. He is not good for America. Cult-leaders are never good for anything, because people give up thinking for themselves.

It's strange that someone would respect a rapist and racist among other things, but I guess this may say more about you than him...

This guy obviously has personal issues/opinions about trump, and is backwards rationalizing his bias with astrology. This dude will continue to be wrong about astrology & trump

He did lose, and he will again! At least according to his Solar Return chart for 2024.
