"WASHINGTON, May 17 (Reuters) - Some of Donald Trump's allies are assembling proposals to curtail the Justice Department's independence and turn the nation's top law enforcement body into an attack dog for conservative causes, nine people involved in the effort told Reuters.
If successful, the overhaul could represent one of the most consequential actions of a second Trump presidency given the Justice Department's role in protecting democratic institutions and upholding the rule of law."

Another problem with Project 2025 is that the DNC won't campaign harder against it. All they're going to do is point to it and say to the voters, "If you don't want that, vote blue!" The DNC still believes if they win, "nothing will fundamentally change." If they lose, they beg for donations as a way of 'resisiting' to another Trump administration. We need to vote FOR something, not just against.

I used to be moderate, and I have good friends that not only vote republican, but will vote Trump. To them, he's the proverbial brick through the establishment window. To me, he's an arsonist. I think that unless you sit in the Presidents seat, you don't know the pressure. I can imagine what it would be like if everyone in your neighborhood thought that you were the cause of all their problems. Mr. Uygur, long-time fan, long-time listener. I believe that you are correct about the dismantling of democracy. I do disagree about your take on Joe Biden. People are not enthusiastic, but he has been effective in his term. The economy macro is thriving. Where he is not a progressive, he is doing things that are adjacent. At the presidential level, we live 2 party. We can change that eventually, but for now, he is the strongest candidate of the two. Criticize his mistakes, absolutely, but laud his accomplishments as well. When I hear you speak about how weak his is, I feel that you think the country is in turmoil. I heard you say that it wasn't. If he is doing good, let us make him be better. If he isn't, we get him out. There is only one threat to democracy in this race. If we could have better election systems this would be easy.
