Keaton makes a great observation regarding the crowds discipline in not stampeding out of there. I had the same thought when I first saw the footage the day it happened but didn’t explain it as elegantly so my wife looked at me like I was having a stroke while trying to make that point lol.

@@johnkayoss5422 Huh?
@johnkayoss5422Ай бұрын
@@ronmackinnon9374 you fail to understand that the "United States of America" is a corporation owned by the banking cartel known ad "The Federal Reserve". This corporation exists due to genocide, theft, slavery (we have more slaves in the US today than before the Civil War, which was sold to the working class as "an end to chattel slavery and wage slavery" with the intent to take on the Northern Industrialists with the help of the freed slaves from the South.) "Country" is just a shared narrative. The Narrative of "America" is so false, you probably think a Bald Eagle sounds like a Red Tailed Hawk (it doesn't at all, there is NOTHING menacing about the sound of a Bald Eagle.) That is how fundamentally false every bit of the narrative of "America" is. I'd reccomend Kurt Vonnegut's book Cat's Cradle, which served as his thesis for his sociology degree. Learn to tell a "karass" from a "granfaloon". You have more in common with any Russian or Chinese working class person than you do with any vision of "America" you have been sold.

I don't have social media but all my 60+ parents, aunts, uncles have Facebook. Isn't it a well known joke at this point that Facebook is the boomer social media of choice? Not having social media doesn't mean anything. I'd rather read a book or meet up with ppl irl than post pictures of my ham sandwich like it has any meaning whatsoever to the world. I value my privacy and don't understand the desire to give people fodder about my life or thoughts. Some younger people are actually avoiding social media all together seeing what its done to people's lives and minds. It's old people who think everyone must have sm. Such conspiracy theory minded mindset

@drewm9903Ай бұрын
That's only true with relatively small number of young people though. There are still a lot of young people that use social media extensively. I don't see that changing just yet. But I do think there is a shift away from that stuff. I would be happy if younger people did just quit outright. I had Facebook but I gave that up like years ago (I believe this was not long before COVID-19 Lockdowns too). Never really used Twitter (now called X because hurr hurr sounds so kewl! I am a woman, a real woman and here is my opinion… women should not be active (guarding) secret service agents. Men have the body type, testosterone and mental/physical/emotional fortitude to throw themselves in harm’s way. If I were being guarded, I would want an all male team. Let us women do what we are good at, we can organize, be the forward team to assess, etc.
@maryhuckaby2239Ай бұрын
Depends on the woman. I've known some damn fierce women. But I do wish that what were traditional feminine qualities - nurturing, compassion, attention to the physical, mental and social health of children and others, intuition, mindfulness, creator of orderliness, cleanliness and beauty - were more valued in our society, and in all aspects of our society including in politics and government. Seems like only aggression is valued.
@drewm9903Ай бұрын

The Berletic thing makes sense in this situation: 1) he is American so speaks English well 2) he lives in Thailand so has a perspective that would be more likely to appeal to your audience. 3) he is ex-military so has a decent knowledge of guns An alternative would be Larry Johnson, but I think you should be getting on less Americans, not more. You are already two Americans. An ex-Chinese or Russian sniper who speaks English for example. I’m sure they must be covering the assassination attempt and have talking heads - I’m sure one somewhere must have okay English. I personally like Indian channels because, as they were part of the British empire, English speaking channels are quite common and it gives a different perspective.

Chomsky once said that at one time the US public education system was "one of the crowning jewels in the crown of US democracy". Decades of funding cuts to public education has now created a system that has resulted in a far less well educated population than in past decades. Add to the phenomenon of funding cuts, the expansion of charter schools, voucher systems, the growth of private schools, and an increasingly unaffordable higher education system for the middle and working class only increases an even greater uneducated public than what has existed in the past. In effect, it creates a quality education system only for the wealth class. Now, this phenomenon and trend does differ in intensity from state to state, with some states being far worse off than others. But clearly there is a lowering of public educational standards in the country, particularly in states with high black and hispanic populations.Essentially you reap what you sow. Starvation funding in public education has greatly contributed to an ignorant and narrow-minded US population. As a 30 year public education teacher in Canada, this is evident in the gross differences between our two public education systems.
