That actually wasn’t a quote made by Trump according to the fact checking website Snopes. He did however, say “You see the mob takes the Fifth. If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?” Equally damning but let’s not spread false information like the Republicans do

This segment is well thought. FBI raid on Mar-A-Lago has been a top trending news. If The Daily Show don't talk about it, they could be perceived as left behind. But how to talk about it without being involved in speculation game? By riding on other people's speculation. Pointing out that other people MADE the speculation.

So if the media was truly lying about Trump taking the fifth over 400 times, Trump could have, and would have that recorded deposition shoved in the publics' faces to prove the lying media wrong. @@AndresOspina1018 They removed another 13 boxes or so from his residence. Don't remember the exact number, but multiple boxes. So obviously they thought they found something. Give it time. We have no idea what was in the boxes. I love that the GOP is going to claim the FBI planted 13 boxes worth...all from backpacks of what is far more likely tactical gear. But given their intelligence, they'll all believe it if FOX airs it.

Just remember folks, in a criminal trial you are protected from adverse inference if you plead the fifth, but are only sometimes protected in a civil case (it seems to depend on specific details of the case). Also, the New York case isn't a criminal one so... yeah, pleading the fifth very well may allow the judge or jury to say, "yep, guilty"

@@clintonmckenzie1058 I assume that you are referencing the fact that Trump himself said that. If so, yeah, it makes him look like an idiot and a criminal. On the chance that you aren't, here's a scenario where someone might choose to plead the fifth but not be guilty of the crime. They plead the fifth because while they didn't do the crime they are charged with they WERE having a homosexual affair at the time and are more worried about that coming out than they are worried about the potential criminal conviction. There are, of course, much better ways to protect that sensitive bit of their love life, but those would require working WITH their lawyer and the person in question wants to keep it secret even from their lawyer.

It hasn't been great. You can spell out item by item what Trump has done that is wrong. His worshippers either refuse to even psychologically acknowledge that the information even exists, switch to blaming someone else for a separate crime as a way to excuse a lack of accountability, or claim "He hasn't been found guilty of anything so he has done nothing wrong" and literally know nothing else about the subject. They don't care about law or standards, it's just worship of a con man and hatred of imaginary enemies.
