Elvis wanted to be regular army, and work along with the ordinary guys. He did not try at all to get out of the draft, and his only worry was that his fans would forget him. Other than that he was down and dirty with all the grunts, and held his own like any other soldier. I don't know where you are getting your information but it is 100% wrong. I grew up with Elvis and his music in real time, and sometimes I am shocked at the lies and slander that people today say about Elvis.

It's not the name of the town - that's Punxsutawney. It's the name of the hill Phil lives on. Still made me chuckle pretty good though because we used to call people knobgobblers in high school (early 90s) and I never knew why or where it came from. Doubtful it's correlated to this, but who knows.
