But I was referring to the polarization of the United States and the deep chasms between wealthy and non-wealthy, and white and non-white, both exacerbated by Trump's presidency. No matter who wins the election, these schisms will remain and are likely to grow wider and deeper. A large scale, leaderless, violent reaction is possible, and perhaps probable. Emotions are high, people are fed up and angry, and nothing will miraculously change come 4 November. Or mid-2021.
