Wow, you sure put a lot of modelling KZfaqrs back in their places. No primer, no gloss coats, slap the paint on with a brush, albeit skilfully. Great finish. Very, very good job sir. Goes to show modelling doesn’t have to be that difficult. Or expensive. 👏👏👏

A Superhornet fan and a brush painter- what's not to like . I had 2 airbrushes one I gave away the second went in the trash bin. I prefef painting by hand but it's becoming a lost art .I have to smile watching modellers masking off stuff you could paint by brush in a few seconds ?? Best wishes from Wales UK.

It's freaking awesome that you hand paint everything. Everyone airbrushes. Id rather hand paint. Get more details.

One thing that this Trumpeter product lacks is those AIM-9Xs look unrealistic, while every other things look just great and fit well. You also have a good workflow. Good build

Nice build, even without airbrush. How was the fitting quality of the model. I can see some putty applied to the lore fwd fuselage section and leading edge root joint to the fuselage. Was it hard to get it aligned and sanded?

What paint and washes do you use? Do you need a clear coat before applying a wash?

I mainly use Revell enamels and for washes Tamiya panel liners and some washes from AK. A clear coat is usually a good idea since removing excess wash might damage the surface if it hasn't been protected with a clear coat. I you apply acryllic wash over enamel, you're fine without a clear coat.

Very good hand brushing skills but I would have used spray can (Tamiya) of light gull grey and dark gull grey overall on the 1/32 Hornet but hand brush everything else.

Thanks! Tamiya spray cans are pretty hard to get where I live and dark gull grey would have been way too dark.

@@jonathanfoxtrotlima9780 Actually in real life ,the color scheme for the Hornet ,F 15 Eagle ,F 16 ,etc.. is now light ghost grey and Dark ghost grey .

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! It isn't often I see a brushed paint job especially on a large scale kit. What brand(s) of paint(s) did you use? They brushed beautifully and the flat, streak-free finish of all the colors is incredibly good. THANKS for sharing your considerable talents with your viewers!.

Mainly Vallejo plastic putty and sometimes for larger gaps MrHobby white putty.

Nice build, there’s just some issues with the kit. Wrong aft crew station setup as far as the displays for the type of radar that was put into the model, wrong bomb racks for carrying dual laser guided bombs and the AIM-9’s look like a combination of the M and X model (forward part of missile looks like a M and aft part looks like an X). For a VFA-2 bird that had that radar, it would have been on the USS Carl Vinson, not the Abe Lincoln. I’m a stickler for detail.

Yes. It needs a ton of putty. There are so many seems that gaps are bound to appear, especially since the fit on alot of parts wasn't great. And thanks!😁
